Resumen del Editor

He said his name was Cain....

At least that’s who Ahmalee knows him as. But Cain Wesley has been smoldering with secrets, leaving Ahmalee completely in the dark about his true identity. Their connection is undeniable. The love is all the way real, but will it be enough to keep their bond strong when Ahmalee finds out the truth about him, or will this relationship be extinguished before it has a real chance to ignite?

Money makes you neither smart nor a good person.

This book was well written, but a HIGHLY frustrating read. Abel drug his secret out entirely TOO long for it to feel okay with me. And while Amaleigh didn’t deserve how he did her, I will also say she was HELLA naive in a way that made no sense WHATSOEVER. By the time the secret comes out she’s distraught saying “I don’t know this Abel!”, but the truth of the matter is she didn’t REALLY know anything about Cain either, and did no real work to try to find out about him. There were entirely TOO MANY red flags and unacknowledged clues for it to make sense to me how she was falling for him and rationalizing it. Ultimately, that’s what made it difficult to get into the romance of this—it reads like a woman so desperate to have a man at her house that she compromises common sense to make a man she barely knows fit her fantasies. I mean, good luck to them in the future, but this is FAR from a HEA to me.

Good Story

This was really a unique storyline....who would help out a homeless person to this extent and openly welcome them into your home. There’s definitely a good message of compassion, not judging a book by its cover, honesty, etc...I could go on...there were a few of life’s messages in this story of love....

Will the Truth Set You Free?

#ReveiwTyM: I have yet to read Flicker but read the first 2 in the series so here we go. I'd first like to say that Ahmalee is a special human. One whose heart is so pure that doing the things she did just came naturally. Had Cain Wesley been a creep, this could've gone a completely left. Thank goodness he wasn't because Ahmalee's guard was ALL THE WAY DOWN.

Cain is a 'homeless man' looking for food. After the initial shock, Ahmalee opens her life to him; feeding him & giving him a place to stay as he gets back on his feet. Accepting the help, Cain becomes a comfortable presence; helping out around the house, becoming a friend & someone to come home to. Only this is, this relationship was built on honesty with a huge secret hovering in the background. I mean... the feelings were honest and genuine @ least. Besides, the secret is not that he has a whole 'nother family and not really a deal breaker but (in my opinion) its the deceit thats the issue. The confession took ENTIRELY TOO LONG. He had SO MANY opportunities but I digress. Ahmalee's goodness also makes her naive. So much internal dialog in this book that I found myself like, "c'mon girl. Ask out loud!" Or "just tell her!" Anyway, if a book can evoke some type of emotion, the author has pulled you in and that's always good in my mind.

This was an interesting story. Reminding you that we are all different and our daily actions can change the loves of others as well as ourselves. Flicker remains on my list but it's not my next book. It'll be good to catchup when it's time. Until then...

A great love story

I love this series. Shows how we are not perfect, that we are flawed, but most of all, through it all we can love. Narrator did a good job with characters. Need more books like this!

When You Needed Me

Omg I loved listening to this book! Both one and two was to die for! Showing goodness is still among a lot of people is so real today, although yes I can’t trust people but my heart of feeling right never seen to be a fault loser when feeling to give a helping hand and knowing I can still do that for some people! 5 stars!

It was ok

It was cute. I like that there was no cursing! It’s nice to see that there’s MATURE author’s that realizes you don’t need to curse to get your point across. It made the book even more enjoyable! The story could’ve been better, and the narrator doesn’t need to do books alone. A male voice was needed.

True Love Really Is Blind!!!

I had a hard time with When You Needed Me because, I just could not get past Ahmalee's stupidity. Maybe stupid is not the right word. She was more gullible than stupid. There were so many red flags blowin' right in her face and Ahmalee just refused to see them. When Cain comes back two months later, he walks in her shop wearing a $5K suit, driving an $80K Maserati, and she never once questions him about how he could afford those things. I mean, not two months ago Cain was supposedly homeless and you don't bother to ask how he came up so quickly?!!! When she did ask Cain questions, he would give her the vaguest of answers and she was okay with it. They say love makes you blind and Ms. Ahmalee was a prime example of that. She lost all her vision along with her common sense. When the truth finally came out that she was an unwilling part of a social experiment, Ahmalee's feelings were truly hurt. She really did love Cain but, their entire relationship was built on a lie and she was having a hard time getting past that. While he was trash for lying to her, Cain loved Ahmalee too. He just didn't know how to get out of that lie and tell her the truth. Through a lot of tears and a lot of begging on Cain's part, these two were able to get past the lies and move forward with their relationship. Cain's parents stole the book. I loved me some Doreen and Austin. They were hilarious. Although their relationship was built on a lie, I really enjoyed Ahmalee and Cain's unique love story. It was super cute and it tugged at my heartstrings.
