  • Hello welcome to A Mother's Journey to Holistic Health and Healing Podcast!

    My name is Marissa Prieto. I'm a holistic registered dietitian, health coach, wife, and mom of 3. I'm passionate about helping others learn how to take a whole person approach to their health so they feel better and have more energy to do the things they enjoy in life.

    In this podcast, you will learn practical tools you can adopt as a busy mom that will help you take small steps towards improving your health and well-being. Your health is more than just physical. Health also encompasses your mental, emotional, and spiritual health.

    On the podcast we'll discuss topics such as nutrition, movement, motherhood, mindset, stress management, mindfulness, spirituality and more. Along the way in the podcast, I'll share my personal health and healing journey and what's helped me maintain healthy habits as a busy mom. You'll also hear from other moms sharing their health and healing journeys. When we share our healing journeys, others heal.

    This podcast is a space for you to get the tools, support, and empowerment you need on your holistic and health healing journey. It's a space to help you create your best, healthiest self.

    Imagine a life where you are confidently taking imperfect action tending to your health and wellness. A life where you are in tune with your body and honoring it by giving it what it needs.

    I can yes to all of the above! This is true for me before I started dedicating time to put into practice new habits that have helped me decrease my anxiety significantly, meditation being one of them.

    This short 20 minute guided mediation is to help you release tension in your body so that you can feel relaxed and grounded ready to continue on with your day. Feel free to try it as part of your bedtime routine!

  • Try this if you want to start your day with positivity and peace

    Does your morning often start with a busy mind leading you to feeling anxious, stressed, or overwhelmed with your "to-do" list for the day?

    Do your mornings tend to get chaotic with getting yourself ready and your kids ready for school?

    From the moment you get out of bed do you feel like the light switch has turned ON and you are in GO mode?

    This is the season I have been in since my son started school. When I realized that starting my day in "GO" mode from the moment I woke up made me feel anxious and stressed, I knew this wasn't healthy for me nor was it going to be sustainable. My nervous system was constantly in fight-or-flight, which impacted my mood, my interactions with others, and my ability to make conscious decisions that I knew were good for my health and self-care. I didn't have the energy to do them, nor did I want to.

    In this episode, I share my personal morning rituals that I practice to help me start my day with joy, gratitude, and calm. This helps me start the day with a positive mindset and uplifting energy which carries me through my day. I am more focused and calm when handling challenging and stressful situations and I am able to continue with my healthy habits.
