  • Boot Party - 05 - Mapuche Liberation in Chile w Carole Concha Bell
    May 20 2022

CW: In this episode we talk in depth about police violence, colonial violence, torture, and sexual assault.

In this episode Brendan and Dave are joined by the legendary Carole Concha Bell (@chiledissident) to talk about the history of Chilean occupation of Mapuche territories. We cover the colonial period, through the Pichochet era, and into the present day under the leadership of the newly elected leftist President "Fuckboi" Boric.

It should also be noted that since this episode has been recorded the Chilean government under Boric has sent the military back into Wallmapu to continue the terrorist occupation of the Mapuche territory.

We are very proud of this episode and hope that you all enjoy it!

  • Boot Party - 03 - We The Workers (Introducing Brendan!)
    Dec 17 2021

(DISCLAIMER: Though we may be critical the Chinese government in this episode, we do not endorse Western imperial intervention in the country's domestic affairs.)

A big welcome to Brendan (@sopotsoda) who is joining The Party as co-host! The pod is back from hiatus and we're ready to... watch a movie! Before that though, we have a quick chat about some of the great leftist political work that Brendan is involved with around Ottawa.

We watched the 2017 film "We The Workers" directed by Wen Hai that details the daily lives of some tough-as-fuck Chinese labour organizers who work outside of the state sanctioned unions. We discuss some of the strategies that they use, examine the struggles they face, and are left in awe as we talk about how they overcome increasing aggression from the police.
