    This one I know will help me as I know I need to “Focus on one habit at a time.” I usually focus on many things at once and really none of them get accomplished. If they do, it takes a long time and probably it’s not done as well as if I focused on just that. It’s the same principle of focusing on small, simple things - uncomplicating it from becoming too large or too many. We can build many new habits if we focus on one at a time. Love this quote from the book on this one - “It’s easy to keep adding one new habit at a time, but it’s almost impossible to focus on many new habits at once.” That is something for me to zero in on me for sure.     As I record this one - “Post a reminder of your commitment to your new, healthy habit”, I know I need to go do this. I need to have little written notes set for myself. I have one in my daily devotional book, which I read every day. I love what Sam Crowley says - “writing is the doing part of thinking.” I sure do think a lot. It’s time for me to “do” more with my thinking. It’s always about taking action and these little postings - remember, they are in my own writing - they are to myself! Nobody else sees them. It’s me to me. Simple for all of us to do - but only if we actually do it does it become simple. I need to commit to this and I will do it. Hope you find this one good for you too.     Continuing on with this awesome list of life-changing mindset areas for having more healthy habits… the third one is this: “Practice that habit faithfully and repeatedly.” Coach Wooden mentions trying to have our good habit scheduled for the same time every day. The more faithfully we repeat an action, the easier it becomes for that action to become a habit. Over time, then it becomes more difficult to break the good habit. I need to keep this one close to my heart and also on my daily calendar in order to keep getting better. Good stuff to focus on for me. Thanks for listening.     For the second part of this series, Coach John Wooden reminds us “when you set too challenging a goal, you set yourself up for failure.” Again, it’s the small changes that are key. This is not saying to not have BIG goals and plans, but… keep in mind the process (the little steps) to get there. Little steps help us to keep the good habits going for a longer period of our lives.     Found another series to share for you. When I ran across this from the book: “Coach Wooden's Greatest Secret: The Power of a Lot of Little Things Done Well”, by Pat Williams with Jim Denney. It’s all about building healthy habits. Find a link for the book HERE. (you can find it in many different places) It starts off by reminding us that the best way to replace a bad habit is to replace it with a good habit. These eight parts remind us that it’s tough to try and simply get rid of a bad habit by willpower alone. What I’m sharing with you starting today is all about principles to keep in mind as we replace unhealthy habits with good habits. The first is to focus on little things. Instead of making huge changes in our lives, find small manageable tasks to focus on that lead us to the changes we want. I have always looked ahead a bit too much to the ending that I want. Then it becomes difficult, challenging and frustrating because my focus is not on the first step I need to take, but what’s at the finish line. The more I read these, the more fired up I got.   • Never Trust Your Fears - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Fri. 12-19-25 #1749

    Super powerful and inspiring post I found from Motivational Quotes (@motivational) “Never trust your fears; they don’t know your strength.” WOW… did I need to connect with this. My fears have had more of a driver’s seat in my life than I care to admit and in driving “my bus”, when picking up my strengths at the different bus stops - many times they force my strengths to sit in the back of the bus or they never even stopped to pick them up!! It’s time for me to stop my bus (my life’s journey) - not totally kick my fears off the bus because they are who I am in many ways. Maybe just have them sit in a seat behind me - buckled in… keep a few seats around them open for now so they don’t influence “anyone else”. Life’s journey is never dull when you take a look at yourself in the mirror and find the MANY things to keep working on to improve. So many things get better when we try to improve and be the best we can be! Thanks for listening.     I came across a simple yet powerful post - it’s been around awhile I think too, but it’s still as important as ever for all of us to digest this one. It’s from Psyche Wizard (@PsycheWizard) and the reminder is this: “The life you want is on the other side of discomfort. No shortcuts. No guarantees. Just decisions.” Yep… a short and simple reminder, yet for me, it’s difficult to keep it simple. It all comes down to choices.
