  • Special Day of Gratitude - Daily Thought with Coach Daly - Mon. 2-16-26 #1799
    Feb 16 2026

    “Send Coach John a message”

Out walking our dog sharing some gratitude reflections on a special day for me. I started the day off with breakfast with one of my longtime friends (we have known each other for 55 years) and then some wonderful moments sitting with my wife before going out later with some friends to have a little “golfing” fun, then dinner after. My wife and I have been celebrating for a week or so along with carrying it out through the next few days. We saw my parents, my sister and her husband yesterday for a brunch celebration. It’s been a great time and Gratitude has been a big part of me getting here. Find yours too. It’s a difference maker for sure. Thanks for listening. • Become Truly Unstoppable - Motivation Monday Game Plan - #1798
    Feb 16 2026

    “Send Coach John a message”

I found this post and it connected with me right away. I didn’t have to read it again (although I did), but it’s one that I hope each and everyone of you connect with and remember the truth from this post. It comes from Reads with Ravi (@readswithravi) “You become truly unstoppable when you invest in what no one can take from you: your character, your habits, your mindset, your discipline, your resilience, and your attitude.” This is something that empowers me to do more, to keep getting better and to keep putting my focus and energy into these things that I truly do control. The big time key is that you can do the same for yourself. You don’t need anyone’s permission to work on these areas. I don’t either - other than myself. I need to get out of my way to take care of these things every day. I’m fired up about it. Hope you are too for you! Speaking of being Fired Up - Here is the link to the John O’Leary interview with Rudy Ruettiger - from the movie, RUDY. Thanks for listening. • Efficient vs. Effective - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Fri. 2-13-26 #1797
    Feb 13 2026

    “Send Coach John a message”

Love these connections that present themselves to me, every single day! Now, I do go looking for them - but it is powerful to find things that others have put out there that are there to get my attention and to make a difference with me and others. I’m sure glad I’m able to pay attention a little bit in order to grab these gems. This one came from my reading of “Areté - Activate Your Heroic Potential” by Brian Johnson (@heroicbrian). From page 507 - this one is all about Efficient vs. Effective and how one is good for time and the other is good for people. Some heart connecting thoughts being shared with you in today’s episode and it’s story time with Coach John again!! Thanks for listening. • Trying To Be A Simple Person - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Thurs. 2-12-26 #1796
    Feb 12 2026

    “Send Coach John a message”

It’s story time with Uncle John, I mean with Coach Daly. I’ve recently been reading “Hurdleᐤisms - Wit and Wisdom from a Lifetime in Baseball” by Clint Hurdle. Find more connections to Clint HERE. Find the book HERE. This gem comes from Hurdle-ism 16 -(pg. 68) “I’m Just Trying to Be a Simple Person in a Complex World!” We are in a complex world for sure. In fact, during my 60 years on this planet - I can speak for myself that this is the most complex time during my lifetime. I like how he connects so many different connections in this passage to trying to “take care of the tasks in front of me one by one.” I need to do a much better job on simplifying the way I approach life in general, but for sure - my life! This helps all of us (me for sure) to ride the waves of the ups and downs of life, which I have been trying to do for a long time. I hope it helps you too. Thanks for listening. • Achieve Greatness In Life - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Wed. 2-11-26 #1795
    Feb 11 2026

    “Send Coach John a message”

I found a great recipe for living a great life. It has 3 parts, which for me is easy (still tough for me) to remember and connect with. This gem comes from Reads with Ravi (@readswithravi) and it reminds me of going after and building a “great” life that is made up of my definition and not so much of what the “world” says our life should be made up of. Awesome quote here: “The only way to achieve greatness in life is to have patience, consistency, and discipline.” - David Goggins (who wrote a powerful book, “Can’t Hurt Me” which I read last year). This is connected with a few other items that have been on my mind and heart that I want to share in a few future episodes. Those 3 items of patience, consistency and discipline are things that I have been connected with and sometimes focused on - but usually not connected together and not as deep as I need to be focused on. Again, intentional focus is something that I need to connect with these 3 items for sure! Thanks for listening. • We Have No Idea - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Tues. 2-10-26 #1794
    Feb 10 2026

    “Send Coach John a message”

I found first thing this morning a post shared from a favorite person of mine, Mark Hickie (@MPHickie) who is again, someone I connected with online and not in person… yet.. Who knows, maybe someday I will get a chance to meet face to face. Mark shared some thoughts before his post - “We have no idea what anyone is really dealing with. We have no idea of the battles they have faced & are still facing. Everyone is going through something so why not be kind. Why not offer compassion & gentleness knowing that we have no idea what someone is really going through.” This hit me hard as this morning, only after seeing some things online for 10 minutes or so, I got really sad and down as to what people continually do and say to others that simply don’t do any good at all for anyone. I’m thinking about what Gary Vaynerchuk (@garyvee) says all the time. The people spewing out all of the hate, negativity, anger, blaming others, etc., are all simply showing the pain and anger they are trying to deal with in their lives. It’s really a look into who they are, what they are thinking (or hiding) and they know no different as to how to deal with others. My thoughts on Mark’s post was this: “Everyone … every single human being goes through tough times, battles, pain, fear, doubt, tears, etc. - To me it’s the Great Human Connector to all of us! Throughout history this is something we’ve all had to deal with. For those always piling on, putting others down (1 of 2) - Making fun of others, intentionally causing trouble for others, causing others pain, etc.; Please figure out we are WAY more alike than we are different. View things from their perspective. All of us have been through the tough odds of even being born! It’s not that difficult!” I’m continually getting down, sad, upset, even angry at all of this crud going on in our world. I refuse to jump in and start bashing the “bashers” or spending tons of time looking up evidence to prove them wrong. I have chosen my voice and actions to make a difference with others and to try and offer hope to anyone willing to try and do the same. Life should be better than what we are creating it to be. We can (and must) do better and be better for ourselves, our loved ones and for the good of others. Thanks for listening. • This Is What Matters - Daily Thought With Coach Daly - Mon. 2-9-26 #1793
    Feb 9 2026

    “Send Coach John a message”

I found a post from Vala Afshar (@ValaAfshar) where he shared a clip from the incredible Mr. Rogers. See the clip HERE. A gentle reminder for all: “We just don't get to be competent human beings without a lot of different investments from others. Think about those who have helped you become who you are today. What really matters is helping others win too.” —Fred Rogers This got me thinking about so much that we all have connections to. The people in our lives - the ones that made a difference with me, I’m grateful for all of them. There are so many people out there that forget this fact. They are the ones that think they did a lot on their own and we all need to remember where we came from and the people that helped us and walked our pathway with us. It’s time for us to keep working on ourselves so we can keep helping others win too! IT sure beats tearing others down, making fun of others and looking to do things to cause problems for others. Come on people - we all need to be better!! Thanks for listening. • The Silent Engine - Motivation Monday Game Plan - #1792
    Feb 9 2026

    “Send Coach John a message”

I found this gem from Reads with Ravi (@readswithravi) and it is a short, yet powerful thought… “Consistency is the silent engine of extraordinary results.” Every day. Every way to just keep going!! It’s one of those things that again, nobody has to know about what you are doing or how often you are doing them. Those that love you will know without you even telling them. It’s a reminder to me to keep doing what I have to do every day. It’s a choice to keep showing up to do the things I know I have to do. It’s my honor to keep being my best in being a dad, husband, son, uncle, brother, etc. I can’t take any of those roles for granted. Wow.. love this thought! Something to carry with us wherever we go!! Thanks for listening.
