Love ❤️ thy Neighbor: The Wife’s Voluntary Submission (Part 1)

Ephesians 5:33

Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.

A LOVING WIFE RESPECTS HER HUSBAND IN OBEDIENCE TO THE WORD OF GOD

1 Peter‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬-‭6‬ ‭

“Wives, likewise, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives, when they observe your chaste conduct accompanied by fear. Do not let your adornment be merely outward—arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel— rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is very precious in the sight of God. For in this manner, in former times, the holy women who trusted in God also adorned themselves, being submissive to their own husbands, as Sarah obeyed Abraham, calling him Lord, whose daughters you are if you do good and are not afraid with any terror.”

Compelling power is found only under Satan’s government. The Lord’s principles are not of this order. His authority rests upon goodness, mercy, and love; and the presentation of these principles is the means to be used. God’s government is moral, and truth and love are to be the prevailing power. – {Desire of Ages p. 759.1}

2 Corinthians 5:14-15

For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: 15And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

“Older women likewise are to be reverent in behavior, not slanderers or slaves to much wine. They are to teach what is good, and so train the young women to love their husbands and children”

A VIRTUOUS WOMAN DOES GOOD AND NOT EVIL TO HER HUSBAND

Proverbs 31:10-12

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies. 11The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil. 12She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.

1 Peter 3:9

Not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.

Romans 12:21

Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

GOD WILL ALWAYS REWARD GOOD WORKS EVEN IF OUR FELLOW HUMAN BEINGS MIGHT NOT APPRECIATE

Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.

For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

Love ❤️ thy Neighbor: Husbands Love your Wives

YOUR CLOSEST NEIGHBOR IS YOUR SPOUSE ‼️

Ecclesiastes 9:9

Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that is thy portion in this life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun.

Though difficulties, perplexities, and discouragements may arise, let neither husband nor wife harbor the thought that their union is a mistake or a disappointment. Determine to be all that it is possible to be to each other. Continue the early attentions. In every way encourage each other in fighting the battles of life. Study to advance the happiness of each other. . . . Then marriage, instead of being the end of love, will be as it were the very beginning of love. {Ministry of Healing p. 360}

DO NOT NURSE GRUDGES AND BITTERNESS IN THE HOME

Ephesians 4:26-27

Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: 27Neither give place to the devil.

Colossians 3:19

Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.

Ephesians 4:31-32

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: 32And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

James‬ ‭3‬:‭13‬-‭18‬ ‭

“Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show by good conduct that his works are done in the meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth. This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; 26That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, 27That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. 28So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

THE BLESSED HOUR OF PRAYER AND ALL FASTING WILL BE OF NO BENEFIT IF YOU DON’T TREAT YOUR WIFE WELL

“Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered.”

Isaiah 58:4

Behold, ye fast for strife and debate, and to smite with the fist of wickedness: ye shall not fast as ye do this day, to make your voice to be heard on high.

Matthew 5:23-24

Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; 24Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

BE THE BEST FRIEND TO YOUR CHILDREN OTHERWISE THE VACUUM WILL BE FILLED UP WITH EVIL COMPANIONS

The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth.

Psalm‬ ‭78‬:‭2‬-‭4‬ ‭ESV‬‬

“I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings from of old, things that we have heard and known, that our fathers have told us. We will not hide them from their children, but tell to the coming generation the glorious deeds of the Lord, and his might, and the wonders that he has done.”

TEACH YOUR CHILDREN THE TRUTH IN LOVE

Ephesians 4:15-16

But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: 16From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.

Colossians 3:20-21

Children, obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord. 21Fathers, provoke not your children to anger, lest they be discouraged.

DISCIPLINE IN LOVE ❤️ UNDISCIPLINED CHILDREN ARE A DISASTER TO THE FAMILY, THE COMMUNITY AND THE NATION.

Proverbs 29:15

The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame.

Hebrews‬ ‭12‬:‭5‬-‭8‬ ‭ESV‬

“And have you forgotten the exhortation that addresses you as sons? “My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor be weary when reproved by him. For the Lord disciplines the one he loves, and chastises every son whom he receives.” It is for discipline that you have to endure. God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline? If you are left without discipline, in which all have participated, then you are illegitimate children and not sons.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭13‬:‭1‬-‭6‬ ‭NKJV‬

“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;”

Administer the rules of the home in wisdom and love, not with a rod of iron. Children will respond with willing obedience to the rule of love. Commend your children whenever you can. Make their lives as happy as possible.... Remember that children need not only reproof and correction, but encouragement and commendation, thepleasant sunshine of kind words. – {Adventist Home p. 18.3}

LOVE TAKES TIME WITH SOMEONE. IF YOU LOVE YOUR CHILDREN YOU WILL SPEND TIME WITH THEM

“And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.”
