    Kyle's Mai Tai:

    1.5 oz dark Jamaican rum

    .5 oz overproof rum

    .25 oz orgeat

    3 oz mango guava and pineapple juice mix

    .5 oz Cointreau

    Shake all ingredients with ice, pour over new ice in your favorite tiki glass, garnished with pineapple and float a bit of dark rum on top.

  • New York Sour and No Show Fees

    We break out the lawn chairs and hang out with another cocktail, the New York Sour, while discussing vibrato to start us off, Djibouti, British geography, Scottish golf, speed golf Rob, spicy and jammy notes, inflation tangents, late fees, no-show fees, willing to incur these fees if I can’t make it, is this restaurant worth it, whether or not this turns people away from the place, life happens, and upsides and downsides to these fees.

    New York Sour:

    2 oz Rye

    3/4oz of lemon juice

    1 egg white

    .5 oz simple syrup

    Cabernet Sauvignon

    Luxardo cherry

    Dry shake (without ice) first four ingredients. Add ice and shake again. Pour into rocks glass. Garnish with Luxardo cherry and float cab sav on top.

    We continue our summer with another cocktail as we mix and sample the Caipirinha while discussing checking your pits, top beach reads, Brazil, vigorous muddling, peas and bananas baby food, No man loves the country more than I, the need to be outside as a child, returning to a simpler time, hugging that tree, people when they’re not accustomed to being in nature, the planet wide city, bingeing over 240 episodes of Drep and Stone, and remaking the 1992 classic film, Beethoven.

    The Caipirinha:

    One whole lime cut into wedges

    2 tsp Demerara sugar

    2 oz Cachaca

    Ice

    Garnish with lime wheel

    Vigorously muddle lime and sugar in a shaker. Pour in cachaca and ice. Shake. Pour into rocks glass. Garnish with fresh lime wheel.

    The Summer of Cocktails continues as we mix and sample The Revolver while discussing Jim Dale reading Harry Potter, concern for Nick’s beard, expressing an orange, dark after dinner cocktail, Val Kilmer as Doc Holiday with a Coupe Glass, journaling, penmanship, content and flourish, growing up in an era when cursive was important, legibility, writing in all caps, and approaching penmanship from an artist’s mind versus a writer’s mind.

    The Revolver:

    2 oz bourbon

    3/4 oz coffee liquor

    Splash of Gran Marnier

    Couple of dashes of orange bitters

    orange peel

    Shake first two ingredients with ice. Pour into coupe glass, float Gran Marnier, garnish with an expressed orange peel.
