Being in HR for years of my professional life taught me a thing or two about leaders and who was confident and who was not confident. Often times, people believe the leaders especially the C Suite are super confident individuals and they have all the answers. Many times, the people who look great, present well, and command a room are seen as the most confident. This simply wasn't always true!

Today I am going to share 9 common myths around what makes a confident leader. If you or someone you know wants to be a confident leader, this is the episode for you.

Confidence in leadership simply looks different than many of us have been taught or what we believe. When you adjust your expectation of other leaders, you are also adjusting the expectations you have of yourself along the way.

Myths: Confident leaders

• are always extroverted
• never show vulnerability
• always have all the answers
• are aggressive and dominant
• don't need help
• are always positive and never doubt themselves
• are born, not made
• are perfect and never make mistakes
• charismatic and inspirational speakers
