  • Mark visits Soulpepper Theatre Company for a fascinating conversation with Artistic Director, Weyni Mengesha. Weyni shares her stories of her Royal Ethiopian history, her early exposure to racism and bullying growing up in Vancouver and Scarborough, and what compelled her early on to give voice to those who were not being heard. She also offers insight into the creation of "Da Kink in My Hair" and "Kim's Convenience", two productions that would cement her status as a director to watch. And Weyni previews her first full season of programming while recounting the decisions that went into returning to Soulpepper Theatre as Artistic Director during a tumultuous and uncertain time for the long-running organization.
