    In this compelling episode, we engaged in an insightful conversation with Michelle Mitchell, Professor and Disability Learning Specialist at Lehigh Carbon Community College, who shared her invaluable insights on the various challenges faced by students with disabilities while transitioning from high school to college. One of the most pressing issues that we will tackle in this episode is the lack of support services available to these students and highlight the SEED (Success, Engagement, Education, Determination) Program, which is a collaborative effort between the Lehigh Valley Center for Independent Living and Lehigh Carbon Community College. This program provides comprehensive support to students with disabilities in higher education, which is crucial in ensuring their academic success and overall well-being.

    Our discussion also focused on the need for policies and practices that promote more inclusive education and job training programs and the significance of fostering empathy, understanding, and acceptance within schools to ensure that all students feel included and valued.

His contributions to the field have been recognized through multiple awards, and he has authored over 200 publications, including books, chapters, articles, and commentaries. Dr. Obiakor has presented more than 300 papers at national and international conferences and currently serves on the editorial boards of several reputable nationally and internationally refereed journals. Notably, he is the Founding/Executive Editor of Multicultural Learning and Teaching (MLT).
