    Bio:

Registered Nurse by training but in my heart, I have always been an alternative wellness practitioner. Certified Kripalu yoga instructor and therapist, I also teach adaptive yoga for M.S. and Parkinsons disease, Reiki, and Manual Lymphatic drainage. I enjoy painting and travel; I was a nomad before that word became popular. Thailand, India, Brazil, Peru, and the Caribbean...I have my sights set on Africa in the near future.

    Podcast Highlights:

    • Joie started traveling internationally with her kids when they were young, staying in places for months at a time. This inspired her nomadic lifestyle.

    • The pandemic was a catalyst for Joie to leave the US and settle in Oaxaca, Mexico. Loving the sense of community and culture there.

    • Tips for getting started. First, visiting a place you want to live is ideal. Many alternatives for housing include Housesitting, Airbnb’s and connecting with people living in the community.

    • Joie’s biggest takeaway is increased self-love, gratitude and trusting herself. Travel helped her learn to nurture herself and connect deeply with who she is. And learned to build and keep friends’ long term by establishing a community.
