    This is a special broadcast because it is the last episode in the first season! So, we are going to talk about Veteran suicide. In May we celebrated Memorial Day, and in July we are celebrated Independence Day. So, with the idea of patriotism, we remember our soldiers and heroes. We should also remember their mental health is very important. The truth is however, many suffer from mental health illnesses and many also die by suicide. I will have a special announcement as we begin, but keep listening in because later in the episode, I have a special interview to share.

    I have a very special guest with us today. Rossy Duran is joining us to share about her son Daniel Bañuelos, who died by suicide just under a year ago. Rossy is a part of the Latina community and hopes to bring education, awareness, and hope to the community affected by suicide loss. This is a very important topic because of the stigma that not only surrounds suicide, but surrounds cultures also affected by suicide. So, that is why today’s episode is also broadcast in Spanish. I hope to help Rossy have a platform to share the love she has in bringing this hope to the community through her words and actions. This is a long episode guys, so be prepared to stay for the duration of our time together. We really appreciate your engagement.

    In this episode we are exploring grief through a Christian layman's perspective. C.S. Lewis (A Grief Observed, 1961) said "When I lay these questions before God I get no answer. But a rather special sort of 'No answer.' It is not the locked door. It is more like a silent, certainly not uncompassionate, gate. As though He shook His head not in refusal but waiving the question. Like, 'Peace, child; you don't understand.' Can a mortal ask questions which God finds unanswerable? Quite easily, I should think. All nonsense questions are unanswerable. How many hours are there in a mile? Is yellow square or round? Probably half the questions we ask - half our great theological and metaphysical problems -are like that." (p. 69). Just More Than ...
