  • How to Navigate Uncertainty | Morgan's Take on Career Stability and Perseverance
    Feb 28 2023

Morgan Thomas is our special guest this week! She is a graduate of CSULB and has extensive work experience in the tech, mortgage, and medical sales industries. Morgan and I reconnected again after working on the same sales team during the refinance mortgage boom in 2020.   We went all over the place with this episode. Starting off talking about our perspective about working in sales. We shared stories of  Our sales of cold calling clients, working under pressure, and putting in long hours of work at a call center. We both reflect on the memories and growth we had during our time at work. We were thankful that we both got to make significant amount of money at the time.   Morgan went into her mindset about how she developed an advanced work ethic and where here true motivation comes from. The entire episode really shares the theme of pure perseverance. Despite the fact that she had wanted to quit almost every day at her previous jobs, she stuck it through. This led her to becoming a top producer at both companies she worked for and even a management role.   This episode is perfect for high school or college graduates who want the post graduate perspective of what it looks like to work for several different companies. At the end of the day, choose a path, give it your all, be mindful of your life outside of work and be flexible for change.  Reflection: Filming this episode was so much fun. I was nervous whether or not Morgan would want to come on the podcast to share her story, but she was extremely happy that I asked. I feel like the best types of podcasts are when the rapport is already built with your guest. It was easy to dive in and showcase vulnerability. We talked about our real experiences and thoughts about  working at the mortgage company. We shared the things that all the coworkers think, but are too afraid to share. There is so much value with this podcast because people can see the outcomes of what it looks after graduating. Sometimes you don’t end up working in the same industry as your degree. But that’s okay. If you have an open mind and apply your fill efforts, life will work out.
