  • Episode 3: Setting Yourself Up for Success at Events
    Aug 29 2023

Setting Yourself Up for Success at Events

When you’re at an event, eventually something is bound to go wrong. Sometimes it’s completely out of your hands, but sometimes it’s completely preventable. Today we’re going to share with you some practices we’ve implemented to set ourselves up for success at our events that we hope can help you too.

    • Test test test. Always test your events.

      • Test to ensure that your assets are loaded properly

      • Test for spelling and grammar

      • Test that your booth is operating correctly (fan running, iPad charging, LEDS connecting, etc)

    • Make sure the app (and your iPad) are updated

BONUS: load your event on the iPad right before you shut down, that way when you plug in your iPad at an event your event is loaded and ready to go. If you don’t have any reception at your event, and you try to load your event then, it won’t be able to load…

    • Have back ups

      • Have backup cords (we’ll have a checklist of the backups they need to have)

      • Bring a backup WIFI hotspot

      • Backup supplies (chargers, extra printer paper, batteries for lights)

    • Double check arrival times/event day details

      • Do you have a timeline?

      • Do you know where you’ll be setting up?

Have all the information you need before you arrive so you’re not left wondering or frustrated.

A recap email before the event helps with this a TON. It leaves everyone on the same page, and leaves room for both parties to ask questions and confirm anything.

We hope this will be helpful for you to EXCEL at your next event. Preparation is SO important and getting into these habits early on in your entrepreneurial journey will help you be successful as you grow.

Thanks for joining us and we’ll chat soon!
