    Deborah Davis, is a former professional tennis player and business from Antigua, who took up the game of golf, later on in her life.

    Despite the late start, Deborah knew golf is what she wanted to do at the highest level, so she closed down her business in Antigua and moved to the United States, where she would eventually play on the PGA Futures Tour.

    In this episode, Deborah shares how she got started in the game, talks about her, custom leather making business "Glover and Wyre" and more.

  • I Still Don't Know What Triggered Me - Khary Mitchell - EP 22

    Khary Mitchell, one of the admins of the Black Golfers Association, Facebook group, joins me on this episode, to share his golf journey as part of the,"50 Black Golf Stories" series.

    Khary describes his introduction to golf, saying that as a kid, while watched Calvin Pete on TV with their father and uncles. Khary was asked if he wanted to join his father and uncles for a round, but his initial reaction was that he didn't like the way the players were "beating up the earth".

    However, He eventually took up the game and has since become a "golf diehard", coaching others and building a community for black golfers.

    Cedric Drayer, the CEO and founder of No Bogeeys Collection, discusses his journey from growing up in gangs and selling drugs, to becoming a pioneer in the golf industry.

    He shares how he overcame tragedy and adversity to become successful, and how he is working to open doors for other inner city youth and entrepreneurs.

    Cedric shares a funny story about a time when he had to save a stroke and ended up slipping and falling.

    When asked about his favorite player in the game of golf, he says it is himself because he knows his capabilities and won't give up easily.

  • Not All Heroes Are on the PGA Tour - Natalie Holland - EP 20

    Natalie Holland is from Bessemer, Alabama and is currently an executive assistant in the film and entertainment industry.

    She has been playing golf since she was ten years old. She was introduced to the game by her father and she went on to play college golf. She is now a coach with Black Girls Golf.

    Natalie talks about her introduction to golf, discussing how her father bought a pitching net and would hit balls in their backyard in Alabama.

    She describes how, at the age of 10, she decided to try golf herself and found that she loved the game. The speaker talks about her current handicap and her goals for the future. She also discusses her work with Black Girls Golf in Atlanta.

    Evin Jenkins is a professional golfer who grew up in Tampa, Florida. He began playing golf at a young age and eventually turned pro after high school.

    Evin discusses his introduction to golf, explaining that he first learned to play when he was eight years old. However, he stopped playing for a few years when he became a speed skater and ice skater.

    He eventually started playing golf again in high school and began to improve his skills. The speaker talks about how golf has been instrumental in his life and how it has taught him valuable lessons.

  • One Shot and I was Obsessed - Herbert Josey - EP 18

    In 2000, while in the Navy, Herbert Josey hit a shot during a golf tournament that caused him to become obsessed with the game.

    He continued to play and his handicap is now down to 7.1. He has shot in the high 70s to low 80s consistently.

    In April of this year, he shot a 74. His best shot was a hole in one that he didn't even know had gone in until he got to the green.

  • There's No Way I Should Not be Able to Hit This Ball - Odis Griffin - EP 17

    Odis Griffin is a military man who was stationed in Hawaii. He lost a bet, ended up at the golf course and eventually went on to became known as "Da Golf Nerd". His handicap is around 15, but he has had it as low as 7.

    Odis talks about how the "Da Golf Nerd" came to be and the meaning behind it.

    Odis says that the strongest part of their game is their short game and the part of the game that needs the most work currently, is his approach game.

    Odis talks about two golfers that he likes - Cameron Champ and Xander Schauffey. He shares that he likes Cameron Champ, because he's not afraid to voice unpopular opinions.

    Odis says that he has met Xander Schauffey a couple of times and each time Schauffey was always likable and humble.

    He also talks about a memorable story from his involvement with the Black Golf Alliance.

    This episode is just me, Anthony McNeil, no guest on this episode. I had a number of folks, reach out and ask if I was going to share my golf journey as part of the "50 Black Golf Stories" series....

    And to be honest, I had never thought about it!

    But it only makes sense right! My most memorable golf story, is actually both a little embarrassing and funny.... I'll just tell you that it involves, Crown Royal and stale candy from a party store in the hood.
