She opens up about the excitement, joy, and taking on an exciting adventure with her husband at 6 months pregnant.

    She also challenges the societal pressure pregnancy can bring and explains her efforts to foster an intuitive relationship with her body and her baby, empowering herself, to keep doing the things she loves in a safe and healthy way.     Huge welcome to Sarah Perry on the podcast today. Growing up in the outdoors, she has a huge passion for being out in the elements and running. We recorded a few months after she set a new self-supported FKT on the South West Coastal Path in the UK a 630 mile trail with 35 000m+ elevation. We delve into this adventure, the conditions, logistics, and the highs and lows. But we also discuss what she loves about the mental and physical challenges of long-distance running, dreaming big, and the self-discovery that comes with each mile.

    So excited to be joined by Sophie Bennett for today’s episode. Based in France, from the UK, she is passionate by movement and sport, a passion that only grew and evolved over the years. We discuss her journey from being the team manager for Bath Rugby for several years, while starting to run, all the way to completing some of the world’s toughest mountain race such as Dragon’s back, and most recently Winter Downs 200.

    We dive into those challenges and how she built confidence and resilience, inspired by her family and especially her mum.

    She now coaches people too, and shares her thoughts on the evolution of the female trail running scenes.

  • 2.6: Jen Scotney, Navigating the Unexpected, Resilience and New Horizons

    Very happy to welcome Jen Scotney on the podcast today. She is a podcaster, writer, coach, yoga teacher, and mountain leader. She also was a runner and has previously stood on the podium at some of the UK’s toughest ultramarathons, including the 190 mile Northern Traverse race and twice on the 108 winter Montane Spine Challenger. A diagnosis of osteoarthritis that was not related to running, led to two knee replacements, and the end of her running. She now writes and broadcasts exploring how we cope when life doesn’t go as planned.

    Thrilled to be joined by Poppy Collingwood for episode 5, outdoor lover, trail runner based in the UK. We recorded this episode early February, she had just ran and won the Arc of Attrition 50 in Cornwall, a couple of weeks before that. We dive into this experience, from the preparation to the pre-race nerves and doubts, to running her own race, and switching to a positive mindset!

    We also discuss how sharing a trail running experience with her dad changed her vision of running, her love for the coast, imposter syndrome, and finding peace in running and enjoying nature.
