    This episode focuses on the impact of our Year 2 ITAP experience which focused on the importance of understanding that pupils with SEND are likely to require additional or adapted support and that working closely with colleagues, families and pupils to understand barriers & identifying effective strategies is essential. This ITAP experience took place in a number of special schools within the Esteem Multi Academy Trust.

  • E2: Forming Relationships and Setting High Expectations: An ITAP Experience

    This episode focuses on the implementation of an intensive training and practice experience (also known as an ITAP experience) which our Year 1 students undertook. Each of these ITAP experiences takes place over an intensive 5 day period where students have the chance to practice and gain expert practitioner feedback on pivotal aspects of teaching. This Yr1 ITAP focused on understanding the importance of establishing respectful and trusting relationships with students.

    This pilot episode is called 'The Rookie Chronicles: So why do you want to teach teenager?' and focuses on some of the reasons why some of our current Year 2 Undergraduate BA/BSc Secondary Education students wanted to be secondary teachers in the first place. In this pilot episode, I am joined by Elle, Daisy, Tea and Leon who are all Year 2 students on either the BA English with Secondary Education or the BSc Computing with Secondary Education course here at Nottingham Trent University.
