  • SHIT HAPPENS: How to find the positive within the negative seasons of life.
    Jul 31 2024

What do you do when you feel like you're "going through it" & you know you don't want to feel stuck but also don't know what you want?

Well, on this week's episode of the Somewhere Road podcast, Co-Hosts Meg Vitti & Nicole Danielle tackle the complexity of that question & talk through handling the hard seasons of life we all encounter at some point.

It's inevitable that on this journey in life, we will all face hard times but an essential part of getting through it is knowing that a positive mindset can change it all.

On today's walk, Meg & Nicole dive deep into this listener's question and remind all of you that on the journey from dark to light, you're gonna feel all the things during that grey "Messy Middle" part. A quick but powerful episode, the conversation goes beyond simply answering the question but covers topics such as:

    - How to find positive in the negative

    - Staying in the "shit" or choosing to dance in the rain

    - Allowing yourself to have emotional reactions

    - Trusting yourself vs living in a victim-induced mindset

    - SHIT HAPPENS, literally! (Thanks, Gabbie!)

    - Life is about perspective

    - What to do to start living a better life

    - Opposites: Good / Bad, Positive / Negative

    - Tease into Nicole's second book

    - Ying / Yang = Your Whole Self

    - "Backpacks" + No one else's SHIT is yours to carry

    - Can't rush someone else's process

    - Not about "right" and "wrong"

    - Why "TALK" is so important

    - "BandAids" will never allow you to move on

    - And so much more!

Keep those listener questions coming! We LOVE them!

Ep 12: "SHIT HAPPENS: How to find the positive within the negative seasons of life" is a quick but packed episode that you don't wanna miss. Put on those headphones, tune out the noise & come take a walk with us down Somewhere Road.

  • Social Media Evolution: Maturing Your Perspective and "Pit" in the Digital Age
    Jul 24 2024

    Welcome back to Somewhere Road!

On today's episode, things get spicy as Co-Hosts Meg Vitti & Nicole Danielle address a listener's question about "friendship" & that thing called Social Media.

One of you amazing listeners out there opened up to us about a problem you're having with one of your friends who, in front of others, called you out for not "liking" one of her posts... (insert exploding head emoji)!

In a digital age where the idea of "Social Media" is taken way too seriously, Meg & Nicole let their own views fly and hold nothing back while discussing this dicey, and somewhat controversial, topic.

We live in a world where often, for many, there's a heavy emphasis on the idea of "friends" and "following," overlooking the value of true connection. While Meg calls out the fakeness of a perceived life that isn't real, Nicole explains why she has no problem if someone chooses to "unfollow" her. And while Nicole is as a big fan of social media housekeeping, she also drops a huge bomb you aren't gonna wanna miss!

Thanks to you listening, Episode 11 - Social Media Evolution: Maturing Your Perspective and "Pit" in the Digital Age, might just be one of our favorites yet!

We really are in this together! Keep those questions coming because this episode is proof of the beautiful discussions that can be had and are the reason we show up week after week to discuss, in a safe space, the things people don't always want to talk about.

Episode 11 is waiting for ya! Come on, let's take a walk...

Today on Somewhere Road, Co-Hosts Meg Vitti & Nicole Danielle are joined by dear friend & fellow RWU alumni, Susan "Hoxie" Grossweiler!

A marketing guru, wife & momma, Sue brings the REAL to this week's episode as she opens up about the struggle with "balance" in life these days. As Nicole questions where is the "ME" piece of it all, Meg does what Meg does best & brings a different perspective to what the idea of "balance" really is.

While we're all just often trying to find the calm in the chaos... this week's walk with these three friends goes deep as, in Ep 10 "Embracing Equilibrium: Navigating Kindness & Self-Ownership," they also discuss topics such as:

    - What is "balancing?"

    - The importance of the word "No!"

    - Our true self

    - Lessons from church on "Kindness"

    - "single" parent-partner life

    - Why we second guess what we know is true

    - Getting HER back

    - The meaning behind the name of Nicole's book

    - Breaking Generational Trauma

    - A SAHWM is the hardest job there is!

    - If you could go back in time & change anything...

    - Losing people as you get closer to self

    - Reconnecting with the "friends" who have always been there

    - Who am I?

    ... And so much more!

Today's episode is exactly what it is when we say showing up unapologetically as ourselves & having the conversations most people don't wanna talk about. As these three friends walk & talk together down Somewhere Road, they extend a hand and invite you to come along with them so you know that you're not alone in all the things you feel.

What are you waiting for? Friendship, Friends. Come walk with us... *Please note that little 'E' icon if real, unfiltered voices are too triggering for you. We promised to always show up as ourselves. ;-)

If you haven't yet, make sure to check out last week's 2-parter with our first guest ever (Trauma Therapist, Erika Saviano) because it was an incredible conversation!

Today's episode is ALL for you. We appreciate so much those who have been taking the time to write in, showing your support & submitting personal questions or topics you'd like us to talk about here on Somewhere Road. And today, "Ask & You Shall Receive" because on this first ever 'Listener' Episode, Co-Hosts Meg Vitti & Nicole Danielle address not only one, nor two, but THREE new listener questions we've received! And let us tell you now... they are AWESOME & we are just loving it so much so please keep them coming our way. Our hope is you have found a safe space here with us to just talk openly & we surely hope in return that our convos are adding value to your lives!

Today, in EP 9: "Ask & You Shall Receive," Meg & Nicole talk through 3 different listener questions that cover the topics of:

    1. A deeper dive into "losing your shadow" & healing your inner child.

    2. Knowing you need to change your life but questioning what to do if you don't know what you want for your life.

    3. Boundaries. (enough said!)

With powerful takeaways including: "Your shadow is the biggest loss of yourself," "If you're afraid to fail, you care more about what other people think," and "(you) need to know your values - if peace is one of them, you need to make changes to protect that"... we invite you open your minds & your hearts and join us for this week's walk with us as we address your questions somewhere along the road.

Come on, let's go! *Please note that little 'E' icon if real, unfiltered voices are too triggering for you. We promised to always show up as ourselves. ;-)

  • Breaking the Stigma, Part One: Unveiling the Truths of "Mental Health" with Trauma Therapist, Erika Saviano
    Jul 3 2024

WOW this week's amazing walk down Somewhere Road is one that we know you're not gonna want to miss!

Our first guest ever joins us on the road for a powerful, awakening & much needed real conversation about "Mental Health."

There was so much conversation & so many moments that hit deep so instead of skimping on the goods, we decided to surprise all of you with not one but TWO brand new episodes of the "Somewhere Road" podcast this week.

In wanting to address the topic of "Mental Health" & the stigma that often surrounds it, we knew we had to bring someone on the podcast who really understands & encompasses the connection between the mind, the body & the whole self. And there was only one person who came to mind that we could trust to have this important conversation with!

So today, Co-Hosts Meg Vitti & Nicole Danielle are joined by their very special guest, and dear friend, Erika Saviano, who is a licensed Mental Health Clinician specializing in Trauma, Relationships & Eating Disorders. But her experience doesn't just stop there! Not only is Erika a therapist but she's also a Reiki Practitioner, a fitness instructor, a single mom of two beautiful young kids & a woman who is constantly working to better her own self in life & openly shares her own experiences in order to help others.

In Episode 7 - Breaking the Stigma, Part One: Unveiling the Truths of "Mental Health" with Trauma Therapist, Erika Saviano we cover a lot, like A LOT of topics including:

    - The whole self

    - Trauma & toxic relationships

    - Being REAL with her clients

    - How to break the stigma on "Mental Health"

    - Therapy being used as an excuse

    - Self-Awareness

    - Kids & therapy

    - Judgement around "Mental Health"

    - Negative & Positive Energy

    - Why it's OK to "Fake It"

    - Reiki & stuck energy in your body

    - Why "Grounding" is so important

    - The importance of breathing & connecting

    - Why it's hard to "better" yourself

    - The power of music

    - The first steps to take for your mental health

    ... And so much more!

We weren't kidding, our conversation with Erika Saviano is a big one! And this is all just in part one!

So take a listen to Episode 7 & make sure to follow up with Episode 8 when we continue to dive into "Mental Health," deeper into kids & the parent-child relationship and then Erika helps us address a listener's question about how to know when you're ready for a relationship and, on the flip side, how to know when it's time to walk away...

All this & so much more on today's 2 part conversation with our very special guest.

So what are you waiting for? Come on... let's go for a walk! *Please note that little 'E' icon if real, unfiltered voices are too triggering for you. We promised to always show up as ourselves. ;-) Episode Resources: Website: www.somewhereroad.com IG: @its_somewhere road

  • Evolving Beyond Fear: Embracing Change in the Journey of Life
    Jun 26 2024

Welcome back! We're so happy to have you join us for another walk down Somewhere Road.

In today's episode, Co-Hosts Meg Vitti & Nicole Danielle address a listener question about "starting over" and being terrified to navigate the unknown. While talking through their own perspectives on how to answer this question, the ladies take a deep dive into embracing change, having no regrets & learning to let go of the "negative" in life.

As they explore the idea that it's better to roll the dice than live in misery, Nicole asks Meg (from the Messy Middle) to paint the picture of what the journey looks like from the darkness back to the light.

In an unexpected turn of the conversation, Nicole shares with Meg a recent happening at one of her book signings where she was literally "attacked" by someone lurking in the aisles. A topic Nicole swore she would never bring along the road... oh, hold on tight because they go there today when the topic of "Religion" can't not be addressed!

Meg & Nicole invite you to come along on this week's walk which is sure to not only inspire & make you ponder but shine a bright light on the "crazy" in the world!

Holding out a hand. Come, take a walk... *Please note that little 'E' icon if real, unfiltered voices are too triggering for you. • Workweek Whirl: The 4-Hour Fable & the Flip Side of Ambition
    Jun 19 2024

You wanna know what it's really like to be inside the friendship of Co-Hosts Meg Vitti & Nicole Danielle... look no further than this week's episode of Somewhere Road!

Nicole does her whole "Nicole" thing when trying to make sense of a last minute idea that came to her & wants Meg's opinion on a topic that really irks her - while Meg finds entertainment in Nicole trying to process, in real time, this whole idea of "After the..."

In this episode, they blow the roof off this trending idea that you shouldn't work more than 4 hours a day or 4 days a week to be a success in business and how "Hustle Culture" is still the way many people achieve their goals. When it comes to business & making your dreams come true, there are no shortcuts. You gotta put in the work & be careful who you "follow."

This week's walk then takes a turn as they get into a deep convo that shines light on what "presence" actually means and the truth that just being around others doesn't mean you're being PRESENT with others. Simply put, sometimes the best thing you can do is to put down your phone, stop being distracted by life somewhere else when LIFE is actually happening in front of you.

Time isn't guaranteed to anyone. Nothing is more important than the here and now.

In this fun episode with some valuable takeaways, we invite you to come along & take a walk with us down Somewhere Road! *Please note that little 'E' icon if real, unfiltered voices are too triggering for you.
