On this episode of Sooner State of Mind, we are moving on up! July 1st, 2024 was the University of Okalhoma's first day in the SEC. The long-awaited move is finally official and Sooner Nation is completely stoked! Joe C flies off the top rope and gives us the best quote of the day. The Sooners end their era of total domination of the Big 12. I know there are a bunch of teams that were ready to see them and their fourteen Big 12 titles go away. Even though the scenery and conference have changed, the thing that hasn't changed is the evolution of recruiting under Brent Venables and company. The Sooners continue to add to what looks to be an outstanding 2025 class. That talent is now reaching into 2026 as well. The Sooners land a huge commitment from one of the nation's top high-school quarterbacks Jaden O'Neal. Brent Venables also secured a nice contract extension, we will check out those numbers.
