On this episode of Sooner State of Mind, we are moving on up! July 1st, 2024 was the University of Okalhoma's first day in the SEC. The long-awaited move is finally official and Sooner Nation is completely stoked! Joe C flies off the top rope and gives us the best quote of the day. The Sooners end their era of total domination of the Big 12. I know there are a bunch of teams that were ready to see them and their fourteen Big 12 titles go away. Even though the scenery and conference have changed, the thing that hasn't changed is the evolution of recruiting under Brent Venables and company. The Sooners continue to add to what looks to be an outstanding 2025 class. That talent is now reaching into 2026 as well. The Sooners land a huge commitment from one of the nation's top high-school quarterbacks Jaden O'Neal. Brent Venables also secured a nice contract extension, we will check out those numbers. On this episode of Sooner State of Mind it might almost be April, but the college football world is still going strong! Tons of news keeps pouring in. We are in the middle of Spring Ball and we are finally getting a look at some of our newest Sooners. Even better than that is getting a look at Jackson Arnold slinging the rock to all those Sooner weapons. OU is also looking like they will enter the season healthy at running back, something they were unable to do most of last season. As more news is leaking out of spring practices for the Sooners, we are hear to drink it all up. We have a ton of talented players competing and putting in that work to get ready for the 2024 football season. Speaking of getting ready, the Sooners can now get ready for their 2025 opponents as well. the SEC released the schedules for the 2025 season and we will let you know about some of the big time games the Sooners will have on the schedule. We also had to beat another opponent to beat in the off season. The Ohio State Buckeyes came into tow trying to poach one of our finest. However, Demarco Murray said no dice, and and parlayed that heat into a contract extension and a couple more bucks. Speaking of OU coaches, Big Game Bob Stoops is back with his Arlington Renegades as they look to go back to back championships. This time it will be in the UFL.
