THINGS MEN DON'T TALK ABOUT W/BRAD PERRY

  • Resumen

  • If you’ve been paying attention to the social trends, you probably have some inkling that boys and men are struggling, in the U.S. and across the globe. Males are much more likely than females to die by suicide. This disparity may be due, in part, to the greater reluctance among males to seek mental health treatment and internalized expectations around “masculine behavior.” Men are also struggling physically. Men account for close to three out of every four “deaths of despair” — suicide and drug overdoses. Men feel the need to fall into a false narrative of what 'strength' is. Men are facing a crisis in society due to economic struggles, loneliness, and lack of role models, and their mental health issues and challenges should be addressed with compassion and understanding rather than blame, as they face higher rates of addiction, incarceration, and suicide compared to women. On this show, we are having the conversation. We are talking about the hardships that exist within manhood, but also the joy and pride that can come out of it too.  Nothing is off limits, and everything is on the table.  This is, Things Men Don’t Talk About with Brad Perry.

  • STEVE WILKOS ON HANDLING A PARTNER'S DISEASE & HEALTH ISSUES.
    Jan 17 2024
In our society, women typically outlive men. That fact has been baked into our culture as a norm as it is an expectation, especially in spousal relationships. But what happens when a female partner suffers a debilitating disease?  How do men handle it? It may surprise to hear just how much men internalize their fears and stress to appear strong to their friends and family in the face of such dread.  I talked with talk show host Steve Wilkos about how he dealt with his wife’s cancer and the response he gave me will surprise you!

  • BRIAN KEHOE OF MDRIVE FOR MEN TALKING ABOUT MEN'S SUPPLEMENTS
    Jan 11 2024
Health and wellness isn’t just for women.  Although it’s commonly thought that women care more and spend more on their physical health and appearance than their counterparts, men are quickly catching on and catching up.  From diet and exercise to supplements, skincare, and healthcare, men are paying more attention.  And the health and wellness industry is noticing. Men are spending more on health, supplements and anti-aging than ever, and the numbers back it up, with 82% of men surveyed stating they “try to stay healthy to live longer for friends and family who rely on them.”  Ultimately, men spending more on their health—even if it starts simply for vanity—is a massive step in the right direction. And there are so many preventative measures they can take, including everything from diet and exercise to daily nutraceuticals and optimizing their hormones.  All of these measures can help men age happier and healthier. In this episode, I talk with Brian Kehoe of “Mdrive for Men” about how supplements and other treatments, can help men stay healthy as the wheels come off.

  • MORE 'FOOD' FOR THOUGHT...
    Dec 27 2023
On the show we have discussed how some men not only eat poorly, but also don’t discuss their eating habits with each other.  On today’s show, we sit down with John Stewart, the founder of Sunfare Food Service.  Stewart’s company Sunfare, is a prepared food delivery service that focuses on healthy eating plans, whether you are Keto, Raw, Paleo, Vegan, etc… What unites all the plans is the underlying health benefits that they each literally bring to your table (pun intended.) Your goal could be as simple as clean healthy eating, to lose weight or perhaps both. Sunfare makes all that easier for us to achieve. Stewart and I discuss his journey into this category, how it’s changed and how he stays on the cutting edge. We also chat about why men are so emotionally pre-disposed to thinking that dieting or a restrictive diet is a bummer instead of just viewing it as a healthy lifestyle.
