  • Ep. 506: Why Am I Not "Over It" Yet?
    Jul 12 2024

Shitty things happen in life, and don’t we know it. And we all know that healing isn’t linear, but haven’t you ever though to yourself, “Why aren’t I over this yet?” Emotional wounds cut deep, and they’re often compounded childhood wounds, which just means that it’ll take longer to “heal” than you might expect—or want. But Bestie, you’ve been through some hard shit. Us, too. And that’s something we should be proud of.

  • Ep. 504: The Results of Our 30-Day Instagram Reels Challenge
    Jul 5 2024

We’re fresh off a 30-Day Instagram Reels Challenge and our results were… nothing like we imagined they would be. When we started our businesses online, we never predicted that we’d somehow have to turn into videographers, too. So we figured we’d lean in to Reels and see how it changed our followings. Spoiler alert: it didn’t. Well, at least not in a glaringly obvious way. We improved our video editing, pissed some people off, and learned a lot about what actually grows a social media account. And thank god it’s over now.

Why we did a 30 day Reels Challenge [2:29]

Trying to mix your personal brand with what’s trending [8:06]

You need to have some edge to you [10:13]

The kinds of content that helps you grow [13:25]

Thinking about the content that we engage with [17:35]

Anticlimactic results (for some of us) [19:06]

Getting into the habit of daily posting [21:03]

A new appreciation for the work that video takes [23:12]

  • Ep. 502: The Man vs. Bear Debate
    Jun 28 2024

If we were trapped in a forest, would we rather be stuck with a man or a bear? If you’re a woman, you already know our answer because yours is probably the same: the bear. It’s not that we hate men, but in our experiences, men can be scary, unkind, and unsafe. Every single woman we know has a story about some man acting creepy and aggressive. “No” is never enough of an answer for that type of guy, and there’s always that lingering fear that by telling him no, he’ll get angry and take it out on us. At least the bear will just eat us quickly and be done with it. Of course not every single man is a weirdo or a creep, but the chances of meeting a weirdo creep are high, and unlike bears, they give no warning sign before they decide to hurt us. We’ll take our chances with the bear.

Unwanted attention from men in public [1:20]

Why women choose the bear [5:33]

“No” should be a complete answer [7:51]

What men don’t understand about their own behavior [10:05]

The police can’t (and won’t) do anything [13:21]

Men aren’t listening to us [15:48]

A lack of respectful male role models [17:19]

    Our advice to men [18:50]
