  • 15. The One Where Sex Hurts And You Pee All The Time
    Jun 26 2024
Why do women seem to have small bladders and pee all the time? Is it “normal” to pee a little bit when you cough, sneeze, or god forbid get on a trampoline?!? And is sex supposed to hurt a little? We’re answering all the and more in this episode about all things pelvic floor. Not matter how old you are, or whether you’ve had babies or not, you’ll want to tune into this episode to learn about how to make sex more pleasurable, be able to sleep through the night without peeing, and be able to head out and not worry about where the bathroom is.

    Key takeaways:
    • Why that “just in case” pee you’re doing before you leave the house is making you pee more often
    • The simple mindset shift to help you avoid accidents from holding it in too long
    • How to identify the signs and symptoms of the Genito-Urinary Syndrome of Menopause which impacts up to 80% of women post menopause

  • 14. The One Where Perimenopause Comes Sooner Than You Think
    Jun 12 2024
Women often think they’re too young to be in perimenopause (or told as much by their doctor) so they often miss those early signs of hormonal changes. Long before your period changes, you might notice raging PMS or waking up at 3am for no reason. In this episode, Dr. Sarah talks about how to know if you’re in perimenopause, what tests can be helpful and which to skip, and what’s happening hormonally over the different stages of perimenopause and how that impacts your mood, energy and menstrual cycle.

    Key takeaways:
    • Perimenopause is a phase of big hormonal changes that lasts an average of 4 years (but can last up to a decade!)
    • Most women will enter perimenopause in their 40’s but it can start as early as 35
    • How to manage the irregular and often heavy periods in perimenopause
Did this episode make you realise that you might be in perimenopause, and now you’re wondering what to do next? If you’re ready to more fully understand what the heck is happening to your hormones in your 40s, and what you can do to boost your mood and energy and support your hormones, check out my Forty & Fatigued Masterclass. I created it for women aged 38-49 as your Perimenopause 101 crash course so you can confidently care for your changing body. Learn more at fatiguefixer.ca/forty/.

  • 13. The One Where Your Period Is A Pain
    May 29 2024
If you’ve ever sat at your desk with a heating pad on your lap because you were trying to work through painful period cramps… or your period clothes are all black and roomy enough for that super pad you now need to wear to not bleed through everything, today’s episode is for you.

This is the The One Where Your Period Is A Pain and it’s a must listen to, for any woman who’s been told that her painful or heavy periods are normal and she just needs an Advil and to suck it up.

Even though the average woman will have about 480 periods in her lifetime, most women don’t know much about what’s considered normal.

In this episode, I’m diving deep into the truth about menstrual pain and heavy periods. Did you know that severe menstrual pain isn't normal? Needing to pop Advil for cramps might be a sign of an underlying condition like endometriosis.

And that’s not the only way your period can be a pain. If your period makes your bathroom look like a crime scene, it’s time to talk about heavy periods. Not only are they literally draining, but heavy periods also put you at risk for iron deficiency, making you more tired, depressed, and anxious. And sadly, women are waiting a long time to seek out help when they’re tired. And when they do finally see their doctor, they are likely to be dismissed or misdiagnosed.

    Key takeaways:

    • Period pain isn’t normal and may be a sign of an underlying condition such as endometriosis
    • Heavy periods are common, especially in perimenopause and can put you more at risk for iron deficiency
    • Iron deficiency affects up to 30% of women causing fatigue, increased risk for anxiety and depression and heavy periods are often part of the problem
Iron deficiency is the #1 nutrition deficiency worldwide and it’s making too many women exhausted, cold, depressed and losing hair by the handful. In my experience, iron deficiency is the #1 physical reason why women are tired. That’s why I created the Iron Deficiency Fix, an online course where I’ll teach you everything I tell my patients to do to help fix their iron deficiency. Apr 3 2024
Today’s episode is for my fellow high achievers who are starting to realize that our ability to get shit done is now leading us into fatigue, overwhelm and sometimes even burnout. I share the day I realized productivity was my main marker of success and how I've been working to untangle my self-worth from how much I get done in a day. If you’re ready to go to bed feeling accomplished independent of how many things you scratched off your to-do list and craving more time for yourself and the things you love, this one's for you.

    Key takeaways:

    • Three signs you might be suffering from burnout even if you’re still able to get out of bed and show up at work
    • How to fix the energy deficit most women are living with because we’re so good at taking care of other people’s needs
    • How moms can stop modeling a version of motherhood that’s defined by sacrifice and exhaustion and calling that love
    • The two questions to ask yourself if you’re ready to start closing up your energy deficit

  • 11. The One Where Your Skirt Is Too Short
    Mar 20 2024
Ever changed your outfit multiple times because you were worried about looking “unprofessional”? I know it’s happened to me multiple times, and that’s why I wanted to explore the many unspoken rules most women follow when we get dressed in the morning. I’m joined by Ruthie Johnson, a holistic success coach, fitness junkie and unapologetic feminist. We talk about how out clothing is a covert way that women police themselves and each other. We explore what’s underneath those feelings when we judge another woman for what she’s wearing. Ruthie shares some simple and actionable steps we can all take to let go of stress and societal expectations and step into what we’re truly capable of with more freedom and ease.

    Key takeaways:
    • How the policing of women’s clothing and body impacts our daily life, mindset and adds to the mental load
    • Men and women’s bodies are judged differently and how we can start reframing our judgements to help ourselves and other women
    • How movement and breathwork can bring us back into our body and shift your state when you’re feeling overwhelmed or stuck
Ruthie Johnson is a holistic success coach, fitness junkie and unapologetic feminist. She’s worked with hundreds of women to stop sacrificing themselves, let go of stress and societal expectations and step into what they’re truly capable of with more freedom and ease.

With a decade of experience across coaching, corporate consulting, and health and fitness (with the qualifications to boot), her mission is to help create the next generation of female leaders - who prioritize their wellbeing, create sustainable success with ease and banish burnout for good.
