  • Alya Mooro on Life as a Middle Eastern Woman Outside the Stereotypes
    Mar 24 2022

On this week's episode we're pleased to welcome journalist and author Alya Mooro.

Alya has written for titles including The Telegraph, The Washington Post, Grazia and Refinery29, but it's her incredible book, The Greatest Freedom, that we're most excited to talk to her about.

The book explores ‘life as a middle eastern woman outside the stereotypes’ and is a fascinating exploration of culture, identity and the pressures of expectation. As an Egyptian growing up in London, Alya talks of feeling like a ‘hybrid - British and Egyptian both and consequentially neither’.

Along with her own experiences, when writing The Greater Freedom, Alya also gathered anecdotes from other women, aged 24-50. She’s here to talk to us about what she learned from telling her story, the importance of ‘passing the mic’ and sharing her platform with other voices, and the pressures of what she describes as ‘the invisible jury.’

  • Poppy Delbridge on Tapping and shifting emotions
    Mar 17 2022

If you’re looking to focus more on your spiritual health this year, you’ve come to the right place - my guest today is Poppy Delbridge - entrepreneur, award-winning professional coach, energy psychologist and NLP practitioner.

A former TV executive at Warner Bros, Poppy was listed by Glamour as ‘one of TV’s most powerful women. Since moving into the wellbeing and coaching space, she works with companies and individuals to transform lives and unlock potential. She’s been described as a “modern haute healer”, “a supercoach”, “the white witch of results'“ and “the life-changer” by some of the people she’s worked with.

Poppy is here to talk about the power of intuition and to convince the skeptics out there of the crucial role that spirituality plays in our lives. She’ll introduce us to her ‘rapid tapping’ methodology - described by the Mail as ‘the therapy of 2021’ and share her wisdom on how to cope with the inevitable anxieties of recent months.
