    On February 25th, 2023, the lives of Jessica Mitchell and her family were forever changed. Jessica's husband, son and daughter were involved in a crash in Kerwood. Their SUV collided with a pick-up truck. Jessica's husband Jason was killed while her daughter Layla and son Oliver were injured. Seatbelts saved their lives and they're speaking out on the importance of wearing them. The LHSC did a poll this year and found between January and June, 90% of students between grade 9 and 12 reported being in a car with someone who wasn't wearing a seatbelt. 75% said they don't wear one themselves. Motor vehicle collisions are the number one cause of injury for adults and kids at the LHSC.

    After more than a decade in power, Britain's Conservatives have been voted out. The Labour Party has won the general election with a sizeable majority. Conservative leader Rishi Sunak is expected to see King Charles The Third at Buckingham Palace today to officially resign. Labour leader Keir Starmer will officially become prime minister.

    History was made in the NHL on Wednesday. The Seattle Kraken hired Jessica Campbell to be an assistant coach on Dan Bylsma's staff, making her the first full-time female assistant coach in the NHL. Emily Engel-Natzke was hired as the Washington Capitals video coordinator two years ago, but Campbell is the first to be on the bench.
