  • Capitalism, the patriarchy, white supremacy and other hierarchical structures have effectively not only made sure food is NOT a human right, but they have also ensured that food and nutrition are weaponzied against certain demographics.


    Because of some bizarre domestic violence I experienced that included being poisoned, I found myself in an oncologist's office being tested for some nutritional deficiencies that rarely get discussed, but are directly related to living in poverty.


    And I also discuss the ways in which weight/poverty issues are used to blame individuals for their health conditions, and the challenges that those same health conditions create when trying to access things like food banks.
