    In this episode, we are thrilled to introduce you to an extraordinary individual, Chris. We are fortunate to have him in our lives as a cherished peer in recovery and a dear friend, and today, we are even luckier to have him share his powerful journey of resilience and persistence with you.


    Chris bravely opens up about his struggles with addiction and the profound shame and insecurity he has faced both in his past and throughout his recovery. This topic hits very close to our hearts - so much so that we join Chris in discussing our own experiences of active addiction, mental ill health and our respective roads to recovery.


    Our conversation delves into the challenges of navigating personal boundaries and the intricacies of disclosure, exploring the duality of presenting a polished image to the world while concealing personal struggles underneath.     We couldn’t be more excited to share our next courageous guest with you… In this conversation, we speak with Leens, about her life and the myriad of struggles she has faced, endured and demonstratively overcome. As you’ll discover, she is just the right mix of light, laughter and love, coupled with vulnerability and human messiness (just the way we like it).


    During our conversation, Leens shares her love for public speaking and the confidence it brings, as well as the loneliness and exhaustion that comes with hiding her complicated truths, emphasising the importance of surrounding oneself with supportive people.

    Welcome to the very first episode of “What I don’t want you to know”…


    This is a particularly special episode, as Lisa Messenger (visionary, author, speaker, publisher - basically “endless possibilities in human form), interviews “us” (Em and Tan), to introduce our poddy’s hopes and dreams…


    'What I Don't Want You to Know,' is all about connecting on a deeper level, coughing up vulnerable, hidden experiences about our lives (and those of our guests to come). We are all about sharing stories in a safe way, in a safe place, with safe people, as a means to understanding ourselves and each other.


    We are personally addicted to curiosity and compassion (and as you’ll learn along the way many other things too). In upcoming episodes we will be covering a buffet of complex truths, including grief, loss, addictions, mental health, shame, sexuality, motherhood and so much more… all from a place of open-hearted listening.


    This is truly a big leap into the arena for us… (thanks Brene Brown for Daring Greatly). And whilst “what we don’t want you to know”, is that we are already having big feelings and making to plans to back out of this, we are choosing to face this, our feelings, our fears and ourselves head on.
