  • 571. The true story behind David’s latest suspense novel, Rough Seas – with your host David Naster.
    Jul 24 2024

There are many truths behind my latest suspense novel, Rough Seas. I explain them in this podcast. Here is the description of the book:

Comedian Charlie Ling seems to have it all. His posts on social media get millions of views. He travels the world, performing on cruise ships. He makes great money. He just married a gorgeous woman. Everything changes, though, when his new bride goes missing. Charlie gets drawn into a world of lust, deceit, organized crime, and international intrigue.

The ship where Charlie works, the Phantom Breeze, is also a hotbed of scandal and drama. Passengers on the luxury liner have no idea what goes on below deck and behind the watertight doors. Sex, extortion, drug smuggling and attempted murder are just the beginning, for officers and crew alike.

Rough Seas is a fun ride. The book takes readers on a fast-paced, exciting trip to Bangkok, Beijing, Myanmar, and Singapore, and into the dark underside of the cruise ship industry.

  • 570. What’s happened to Las Vegas? Mark Preston, professional singer for over 55 years explains the difficulty in making a living where he lives.
    Jul 20 2024

Mark Preston was asked to open for the First Lady of Comedy, Phyllis Diller. "I love to refer to Mark Preston as my protégé", said Ms. Diller. "He has one of the strongest, most beautiful voices I have ever heard. He really gets to an audience. He sings, acts, emotes, is handsome...everything".

Mark's unique talent preceded him. He was asked to join the world-famous recording group, 'The Lettermen'. Mark accepted and performed for a total of 11 years with the group. During that time, the group recorded several albums and CDs. There was a campaign to put forward the group's most recent recording "New Directions 2010" with the Les Brown Jr. Orchestra, for 3 Grammy nominations. In 2001, the Lettermen were inducted into the Vocal Group Hall Of Fame and in early 2020, the group was awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame.
Today Mark Preston is one of the most requested singers on cruise ships all over the world. In addition, he performs for public and private venues all over the world as well.

At age 11, Karen Saba and her family moved from Egypt to the United States so she could receive better medical care, go to college, land a good job and become self-sufficient. She went on to get her Masters degree and is presently a technical advisor on disability rights. She works with several non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and international organizations from around the world. She has worked on several topics related to disability rights such as education and political participation, and she primarily works within the Middle East and North Africa region
