    Meet Deb, an International Skills Recognition Consultant who brings a wealth of expertise in policy, practice, and research. She's passionate about ensuring equitable access to education and meaningful employment through skills recognition. Deb collaborates with internationalorganizations, enterprises, and governments to make this vision a reality.

    In her role as a Policy and Compliance specialist, Debworked with the UAE Military Qualification Centre to help veterans translate their military training into national qualifications.

    Deb also contributed to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia'sMigrant Skills Verification Project with Palladium Group, developing a quality assurance framework to boost local labor market productivity for national giga-projects.

    Her dedication to the field earned her a ConferenceScholarship from NCVER (National Centre for Vocational Education Research Centre) for her 2019 master’s thesis, ‘The RPL Candidate – a neglected stakeholder’. She has shared her research through 10 webinars on 'Doing RPLBetter' and the ILO's (International Labour Organisation) RPL MOOC. Additionally, Deb developed global guidelines for the Recognition, Validation,and Accreditation of refugees and migrants with UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning and is partnering with UNESCO to recognise the skills of 50,000 working-aged refugees in Armenia.

    Currently, Deb is researching how to improve Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) in Australia. This project is commissioned by AVETRA, Australia's only independent vocational education research centre, and theVictorian Skills Authority, a state government body.

    Pursuing a PhD at Charles Darwin University, Deb aims tobridge the gap between RPL policy and practice, empowering those who take alternative pathways to credentialing in their learning and earning journeys.

    Since 2011 RFS has supported over 8,000 people into employment. Her work has helped shape policy within government and resulted in creating the ‘Liquid Workforce’ for military spouses.

    Awards include: The Prime Minister’s Big Society Award, Women in Defence winner, & a Deloitte Social pioneer for her work in championing spousal employment for the Armed Forces Covenant. Heledd is a Fellowship of the RSA and is one of the UK’s Timewise top power 50 in bringing forward Flexible working for military spouses.

    Heledd has been named as one of the top 100 Women in Social Enterprise by Natwest Wise and is a member of the Society of Leadership Fellows. Also, she is a member of FVEY an International body of experts in Spousal employment made up of the Canadian, Australian and US military to share best practice for military families.

    Bio – Lishka Taylor, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying), M.Ed. (Educational Psychology) is a practicum student on the Mental Health Team at the Military Family Resource Centre in Trenton, Ontario. She enjoys working alongside the amazing staff at the MFRC, and with her clients as they make strides towards their counselling goals and aspirations. She is completing a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Ottawa. She is registered with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO) and is a professional member in good standing with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA). She also holds a Master of Education in Educational Psychology from Washington State University.
