  • Ep 7 - Marie-Madeleine Fourcade - French Resistance Part II
    Nov 23 2023

Marie-Madeleine Fourcade was the head of the Réseau Alliance - the largest French Resistance Intelligence Network in France during WWII - providing essential information to the British Secret Intelligence Service (SIS/MI6). She was unique and her story in my view is unmatched. In this episode we hear of her train journey through the Pyrenees to meet MI6 in Madrid, her questioning by the Vichy government, the escape of General Giraud from France to join General Eisenhower, her first arrest and escape and of the expansion of her Alliance Network up until January 1943.

Actual voices of Marie-Madeleine Fourcade and her MI6 attaché Kenneth Cohen, MI6 Wireless Operator Ferdinand Rodriguez and Alliance Agent Jean Boutron.
