Broke and on the streets of New York, Amanda had little hope for the future. She didn’t think life could get any worse—until she was attacked by a werewolf! Amanda-Jane Page is just an ordinary girl struggling to make a living on the streets of Manhattan. When she discovers she has the potential to be a Magi, she’s drawn into a hidden magical civil war. Her mysterious link to an ancient artifact discovered in the Egyptian desert draws her into a race to control its power. Finding others like her, together they must stop the dangerous and powerful dark Magi, led from the shadows by the mysterious witch Yasmin.

Amanda has returned to New York, the city she loves, with her closest friends. But Lucian, a dark magus, crime lord, and so-called “king of New York”, rules here. Trespassers are shown no mercy and are quickly killed. As Amanda attempts to settle here, she must resist Lucian's campaign of terror against her. She finds herself under surveillance, dealing with troublesome magi politics and fighting off dangerous assassins as she tries to make a home for herself.

Nothing good ever comes from a Prophecy. New York has been liberated! Lucian and his dark Magi gang are gone. Following the rumours of the red-head who killed him, Magi from around the world are coming to Manhattan. But not everyone is friendly. The Inquisition want her destroyed. The Nomads want to torture her, and then kill her. Even some of the American Magi want her gone. But, at least her love life is also a mess! Elsewhere in the frozen wastes of Antarctica, the plans of the mysterious Syndicate are nearing completion.

The Inquisition found the Time Device. With one simple change, 1,000 years ago, they could destroy everything. Sent back in time, Amanda must stop them before it’s too late. But dealing with the Inquisition is only the beginning. Amanda must find the strength to survive through a series of adventures and revelations in her quest to return home.

Back in the modern day, Amanda discovers that the situation has changed. Yasmin is out to kill her and destroy the world as we know it. Amanda isn’t going to sit and wait for her, though. She starts to work her way through the Nomads' closest allies, hunting Yasmin down. But Dark Magus has plans of her own. With the Voodoo Queen also out for Amanda’s blood, and Mary of the Inquisition doing everything in her power to hurt Amanda, the situation is getting ever more desperate. Amanda must continue her fight against the darkness before it consumes everything.

Yasmin succeeded in defeating Amanda and unleashing an ancient evil on the world. She’s more powerful than ever before. Many have died. The few who survived are on the run from Yasmin and her coven.
