The price of selfishness and betrayal.

I loved this book! This is so much more than a coming of age story. Chemically induced narcissistic escapism is the Oregon dream of the future? This is more than a cautionary tale. This is reality in the streets today! This is a problem as large as world government, national governments, large or small businesses, social groups of all kinds, right down to the family units. Self Medicating psychological pain can lead to selfishness, self betrayal, family betrayal, social betrayal, and the cycle keeps going. Life is about the journey, not the destination.

Although the narrator sounded as though he didn’t study the book for the appropriate voice inflection to project excitement, sadness, or change his voice for female characters very well, the story was powerful!
I appreciated the tender insight with compassion for the shortcomings of each character and the strength given by wisdom and insight. Thanks again for another great story of human interaction.

The intellectual capacity of youth is underestimated in our culture. The characters show the potential with humor and wit. Micro powers maybe supernatural, but seem realistic in this book. I loved it all, and would love to see a sequel of adventure with these kids.

I enjoy the storyline, but I find myself confused by the antagonists. Perhaps the monotone of the narration has something to do with that. I love Gideon and look forward to his development. I am looking forward to listening to the rest and series. It is very colorful and exciting.

I have loved Brandon Sanderson books for years. This, however has been a disappointment. I don’t know if the reader was the weak link or the story. Perhaps it just wasn’t the right story for the reader. Sorry I couldn’t give a better review.

The emotional roller coaster was like a ride at Magic Mountain! I loved the banter and bashing sword play! Keep up the good work!

I loved the dialogue between characters. Dolt has to be the best character in the book. I would recommend this to anyone who can handle blood and gore with some serious moments of great repartee and banter. I love the voices Nick Podehl gives to each person. He is a great actor!!

Both the writer and story reader are spectacular. Someone like Andy Sirrcus combined with J. R. R. Tolkien, a classic story has become a reality. I will listen to these works overtime until I am gone.

Thank you Andy Serkis for the fantastic gift of voice you possess! Your talent makes this incredible story come alive with suspense and anticipation even for those of us who have read and re-read this work of classic literature for decades.
