Story
When his mother became President, Alex Claremont-Diaz was promptly cast as the American equivalent of a young royal. Handsome, charismatic, genius—his image is pure millennial-marketing gold for the White House. There's only one problem: Alex has a beef with the actual prince, Henry, across the pond. And when the tabloids get hold of a photo involving an Alex-Henry altercation, U.S./British relations take a turn for the worse.

DNF’d the audiobook Trying the print version

The characters are funny and the story is cute.
However, I disliked the narrators voice. He didn’t sound enough like a rambunctious 20 year old who partied to much.
Going to give the print version a chance though because the characters were so good

Story
Best-selling author Bryan Burrough recently made a shocking discovery: The small town of Temple, Texas, where he had grown up, had harbored a dark secret. One of his high school classmates, Danny Corwin, was a vicious serial killer. In this chilling tale, Burrough raises important questions of whether serial killers can be recognized before they kill or rehabilitated after they do. It is also a story of Texas politics and power that led the good citizens of the town of Temple to enable a demon who was their worst nightmare.

Narrator is fine just off

Given that this story covers the rape and murder of several girls at knifepoint, the narrator’s overly warm tone is very off putting. I don’t know if they were directed to perform it this way or what. The narration sounds borderline flippant about assault of minors. It was so distracting I couldn’t finish it. The narrator isn’t untalented it just feels like a bad fit for them.

Lots of sexual assault discussion throughout the entire book. I could see it being difficult for many to read for that reason.Overall though a painful but beautiful book with good twist and turns that are satisfying

I liked the narration however I didn’t love the story. For me it was a bit predictable and the characters could have been better fleshed out.
It was fun though.

Story
The Bell Jar chronicles the crack-up of Esther Greenwood: brilliant, beautiful, enormously talented, and successful but slowly going under - maybe for the last time. Sylvia Plath masterfully draws the reader into Esther's breakdown with such intensity that Esther's insanity becomes completely real and even rational, as probable and accessible an experience as going to the movies. Such deep penetration into the dark and harrowing corners of the psyche is an extraordinary accomplishment and has made The Bell Jar a haunting American classic.

I often listen to audiobooks while doing other things. The bell jar with out fail leaves me stopping everything and just sitting and listening intently. It’s beautifully narrated and the story is heartbreaking yet hopeful. Sylvia Plath is legendary but something about hearing her words verbally made me appreciate her work so much more than I did before.
