From the best-selling author of the Netflix original movie The Silence comes a brand-new horror eco-thriller.

Earth’s rising oceans contain enormous islands of refuse, the Amazon rainforest is all but destroyed, and countless species edge towards extinction. Humanity’s last hope to save the planet lies with the Virgin Zones, 13 vast areas of land off-limits to people and given back to nature.

Dylan leads a clandestine team of adventure racers, including his daughter Jenn, into Eden, the oldest of the Zones. Jenn carries a secret - Kat, Dylan’s wife who abandoned them both years ago, has entered Eden ahead of them. Jenn is determined to find her mother, but neither she nor the rest of their tight-knit team are prepared for what confronts them. Nature has returned to Eden in an elemental, primeval way. And here, nature is no longer humanity’s friend.

I love the fact that the people of earth gave these large areas of land back to the animals and I loved the storyline and characters and the narration well done

This book is fantastic and creative. Will definitely have a permanent home in my library the world building as well as suspense and horror in this novel are everything I could’ve hoped for and more definitely give a read. The narrator can take a little bit to get used to but once you adjust I think that she fits the story very well and does it good justice

Wonderful!

I can't accurately review this. The story maybe really really great. I'm just struggling with this narrator. Her speaking style is chopped at some points, it sounds like they recorded it one sentence at a time at points. Long periods of monotone reading and hard to differentiate between characters.
I've never reviewed mostly based on narration or when I was only halfway through. This one I just had too

That narrator

The premise is excellent, and the story has all the ingredients for a tense, atmospheric horror novel. Unfortunately, the narration kept pulling me out of it.
The delivery is flat and repetitive, with very little change in tone between suspenseful, emotional, or action scenes. I found myself noticing the narrator's cadence more than the story itself.

This feels like a book that could have been fantastic with a different narrator. The story deserved a performance that matched its atmosphere.

Boring Narration
