An engaging and refreshing adventure

I enjoyed this compelling adventure and want to read more by this author. Like the best in the disaster/thriller genre, situations are not only exciting and often terrifying, but also catalyze the characters’ internal struggles. The protagonists are distinct, the dialog believable, and the story structure complex and impressive. I appreciate that the author made some refreshing choices, with a voice that examines situations and issues differently than a man would, More please.

Narration is pretty bad

I liked the story line, especially growing up in the valley and living through the Sylmar earthquake and the fear of potential "big one" But the people reading the story drove me nuts the way they read it. On some chapters it was okay but I really struggled getting through a lot of it. It was not a performance. It was at times monotone, no emotion or no emphasis when needed. The voice of Olivia was cringy not like a small child. The reader for BJ seemed to get a little better towards the end of the story. I tried really hard not to be critical. I think I would enjoy reading the book more than this audio version.

Just Get Home

I had bigger hopes for this story than what it was. I don’t like giving such a low rating, but I feel like this could have been better. The ending was good, although again, it could have been told better.

Terribly Boring

The narrator for BG sounded bored throughout the entire story. I skipped ahead as I could not stand it anymore.
