His Truth

They were only kids when they met for the first time. Leo Mancini was the son of a judge. Roman Cipriani the son of a criminal. So different, yet as they shared stolen kisses and secret moments, they fell in love. But in that split second when their eyes meet again, everything changes. Despite Leo's anger and Roman's denial, the connection they shared as teens is still there, too powerful to deny. Now, when their moments don't have to be stolen, they cling to what they've always craved - each other.

Roman and Leo aren't kids anymore, though - they can't lock themselves away from the world and pretend nothing exists but each other. A trauma like Roman suffered doesn't just go away, but now that Roman accepts his truth, can the two of them escape their demons before they destroy Roman and Leo a second time?

Heartfelt

The story was so deep. I appreciated it because it was glimpse on what people who identify as LGBTQ have to face. I like the realness of their story and that it wasn’t just about the long lasting attraction between two men. I cried a couple times.
Thank you for that.

Emotionally Heavy

This book was by far the most emotionally challenging I have read in years, however Riley did an exceptional job of presenting the hardships, difficulties, and anguish of our LGBTQ citizens, thank you for bringing these problems to the surface for all to appreciate, and be empathetic with. I love this book and it’s characters, let’s all take notice, love and understanding is the answer.

Heavy on the angst

Generally Riley Hart books have a bit more levity. Not this one. It’s really good. Great characters and development. But man it was serious.

phenomenal

I will start by saying that I don't usually gravitate toward angsty books. But ....Riley Hart has written this story so well that I have spent much of the last few hours crying my dang eyes out listening to it. And yet, I love it so much. I would actually like to know more about how Roman and Leo work things out. Does Roman ever have a relationship with Anthony? So many questions. That's why it gets 5 stars from me.

Book or play

The story itself was pretty good. I love the way it had the many twists and turns in it. After having listened to a number of Riley Heart’s books, I feel that this one was a not one of her most notable works.
The narrator made it hard for me to immerse myself into the book the way I like to. He overly dramatic in the wrong places. I can say overall though it was a good book and I enjoyed listening to it.
