When children go missing, and the Humans have no leads, I'm the one they call. I am their last hope in bringing home the lost ones. I salvage what they cannot.

So I push through. And I find that I still have some fight left in me.

Ya, I might be more broken now, and yet, a bit stitched back together. I am so invested in this series & how this is all going to end.

Mostly spoilers and morning sickness

I skipped ahead because the X.5 books were free, hoping this would be a fun standalone. Sadly, it wasn’t a standalone and was instead a bridge between books. Worse: it gave away too many character arcs for the skipped books. There’s some good backstory for Faris and a fun exchange between him and Rylee, but the predominant story was maudlin reflection on those lost, worrying about the future confrontation, and lots of morning/flight sickness.
