what a great listen was educational informative about our current systems has some funny moments and many great lessons

The authenticity

Reading this is much better than serving time. Two thumbs up for the enjoyable read.

The middle is weak

The beginning of the book is great. The back of the book is pretty good, but it just takes a long time to get through the middle

Atta boy John!!!

I saw "Silenced" in late 2014- early 2015, shortly after it became streamable. John's story was the one I took the most interest in. I recently heard about this book and it was literally the catalyst that led me to sign up for audible. I listened to the entire book in under 2 days. Great listen. I love the stories, the details and the honesty. I'm glad he's free and doing well. I hope he never quits fighting, and never quits giving updates and writing more books about things. I even got into his podcast because of this. Keep fighting the good fight.

I'm extremely confidented

I'm extremely confidented, as a victim, I hate what transpired for you, now that being said some people ARE right where THEY should be. baseed on their own words from your own conversations. Yes, there is alot of reforms that need to be done, however a blanket approach can not be the answer. Prison IS NOT SUPPOSED TO BE A VACATION, no 3 mints on down-cotton full pillow, earned 16.00 dollars and hour, wearing a terry-cloth robe and cotton slippers? The more attractive prison become, the more reasons not to stay out. As far as the medical needs a big YES. the situations regarding medical needs and missed diagnosing and a proper and trained staff is very unacceptable.
