The characters were so well developed

This is the third book of the series. These are the first books I’ve read by Kiki and I’m impressed by how well I am able to “see” what she is saying. I am going to listen to all her books.

Interesting

This was my first time reading this type of romance novel and I was greatly pleased with this series. The people were fleshed out and each story was told with care. I would recommend this read to anyone of my friends who enjoy a good Romance Novel.

Beautiful and Frustrating

I have listened to the books in order this far. Graves does a very good job narrating. I like the writing in general. (Note: One spoiler trigger mention at the end of this review which doesn’t affect the plot.)

I’d have been more inclined to keep following this detailed and nuanced series if it did not do the “To Be Continued” thing, though. I have saved up for complete series before, but not because I was gimmicked into it.

I loved this world and the characters, but I feel jerked around at this point, and not in a good way.



These three books have so much potential, it’s a shame that cliffhangers eventually overshadowed the writing for me.

There is a Happy For Now included in this mostly unsolved saga.

The Deputy and his Enforcer

This one started a bit slow for me but I quickly realised why. Robson was going for the pack, trying to prove that they were the mob and made horrible accusations (like Marcus threatening the pregnant sister, which obviously wasn't true). Lately I have spent many intense hours with the pack and in the heads of some pack members, I apparently took Robson's accusations very personally. 😁 So far no one's love interest had been unlikable, Robson behaving like an arse (even though I could understand where he was coming from) didn't make me look forward to the mating.

Now, Robson did redeem himself and this book being my least favourite was only true for the first hour or so. Now I do love it as much as the others.

I have mentioned it before, I am a huge fan of the pack dynamics. Rick, Kai and Niko ankering Marcus during a panic attack was the sweetest thing ever.

This book is a lot slower than the other two. The main arc gets some attention but not very much. We get to meet some new characters who will probably play some role in future books. But mainly we get to watch our couple come together and Robson finding a place in the pack.
