Dissolve the distractions of ego to find our authentic selves in God.

In his best-selling book Falling Upward, Richard Rohr talked about ego (or the False Self) and how it gets in the way of spiritual maturity. But if there's a False Self, is there also a True Self? What is it? How is it found? Why does it matter? And what does it have to do with the spiritual journey? This book likens True Self to a diamond, buried deep within us, formed under the intense pressure of our lives, that must be searched for, uncovered, separated from all the debris of ego that surrounds it. In a sense True Self must, like Jesus, be resurrected, and that process is not resuscitation but transformation.

  • Shows how to navigate spiritually difficult terrain with clear vision and tools to uncover our True Selves
  • Written by Father Richard Rohr, the best-selling author of Falling Upward
  • Examines the fundamental issues of who we are and helps us on our path of spiritual maturity

Immortal Diamond (whose title is taken from a line in a Gerard Manley Hopkins poem) explores the deepest questions of identity, spirituality, and meaning in Richard Rohr's inimitable style.

This is among the top 10 books dealing with contemplative journey. Sadly the reader mangles quite a few names and words. I would think that production editors at Audible would have taken greater care to ensure the text of the book is properly read.

One of Richard Rohr's best books.

Nobody else has had the impact on my spirit as Richard Rohr. With every word I am closer to living as my true self.

The narrator is good, but I love actually listening to Father Rohr.

A new day, an old way, a transformed life

I initially found it very difficult to get into this book and found a lot of the topics to be abstract, but for some reason, I also found myself agreeing with a lot of it. I haven’t necessarily been able to articulate my spiritual experiences like the author has. Definitely the end of the book is worth reading, as it has some powerful ideas.

Beautiful book

This work is a true guide for those seeking meaning and purpose and finding their inner core diamond within God is there waiting to be hugged thank you

Richard Rohr has another five star book!

This collection of broad thoughts from the thoughtful Rohr is a good resource. Unfortunately the narration is terrible. Buy the paperback.

Beautiful thoughts ruined by a robotic narrator
