Welcome to the neighborhood. Watch your husband, watch your friends, and watch your back.

Cat Winthorpe has worked hard to get what she has: a gorgeous home; social standing; and William, her successful, handsome husband. Then a friendly new couple moves into the estate next door. While cautious, a good neighbor like Cat greets them with open arms and warm hospitality.

Neena Ryder isn’t a fellow lady of leisure. A life coach with off-the-rack dresses, personal issues, and a husband who hasn’t delivered, she’s anxious to move up in the world. This beautiful new town is a step in the right direction. It’s also making Neena aware of what she doesn’t have. Namely, William. When Neena’s infatuation escalates into obsession, it’s just a matter of eliminating a few obstacles to get the life she wants. The life next door.

As Neena’s secret fixation grows, so does her friendship with Cat. But beneath their cordial interactions is a wealth of temptations, secrets, and toxic jealousy. For both women, the desire for a perfect life can turn perfectly dangerous.

Critic reviews

“A glamorous and seductive novel that will suck you in and knock you sideways. I love this story, these characters, and the raw emotion they generated in me. I devoured every word. Exceptional.” (Tarryn Fisher, New York Times best-selling author)

“Raw and riveting. A clever ride that will make you question everyone and everything.” (Meredith Wild, number one New York Times best-selling author)

While the story itself was good, the narration choices were awful. I feel a little critical saying that, but If you go into it knowing that ahead of time, you get more enjoyment out of the story.

While it had good content- the storyline was ok- but the descriptive details at times were over done. The narrator voice was super annoying.

I read this on my kindle and loved it. When I saw I could get the audio added for $1.99, I listened to the audio sample and bought it. While I don’t love the female who narrated Neena, she’s okay. Of course she was in the sample, not Carly Robbins. CR is a hard no for me, and she was as awful as ever. As much as I hate her voice, she would have been passable as Neena. I felt the narrators would have been much better switched. CR emphasizes the wrong word in almost every sentence, always sounds super haughty, and just has a voice like nails on a chalkboard in my opinion. I felt like that’s how Neena came across as a person in the kindle version.
This would have been 5 stars without CR narrating.
Also, grammatical errors deduct one star from my story rating.

Loved the story, hated narration

The narrators were not good at all! Their inflection expression and changing of voices for different characters was awful, making it hard to get into the story.
