“Messily human and sincerely insightful.” —Kirkus Reviews (starred review)

The highly anticipated sequel to the critically acclaimed, multiple award-winning novel Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe is an “emotional roller coaster” (School Library Journal, starred review) sure to captivate fans of Adam Silvera and Mary H.K. Choi.

In Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe, two boys in a border town fell in love. Now, they must discover what it means to stay in love and build a relationship in a world that seems to challenge their very existence.

Ari has spent all of high school burying who he really is, staying silent and invisible. He expected his senior year to be the same. But something in him cracked open when he fell in love with Dante, and he can’t go back. Suddenly he finds himself reaching out to new friends, standing up to bullies of all kinds, and making his voice heard. And, always, there is Dante, dreamy, witty Dante, who can get on Ari’s nerves and fill him with desire all at once.

The boys are determined to forge a path for themselves in a world that doesn’t understand them. But when Ari is faced with a shocking loss, he’ll have to fight like never before to create a life that is truthfully, joyfully his own.

Critic reviews

"Miranda offers subtle vocal differentiations for the characters — Dante sounds by turns playful, smug, and sensitive — but the core of the story belongs to Ari and his unlocked feelings as he navigates both joy and grief, all beautifully communicated through Miranda's empathetic narration."

And so much better than the first book. In this sequel, the author continues to throw painful events at two boys who are trying to figure out who they are, and shows us how the two beautiful souls navigate growing up. Maybe my favorite audiobook ever.

An excellent continuation of A & D; touching; thoughtful; moving exploration of love friendship and family in an increasingly hostile world. A lovely story and outstanding narration.

I loved the first book and I don't think it would be fair to compare the both of them. Although this book reads a little less engaging in comparison with the first book, it definitely has everything to become a great book too. In this book, we explore the amazing growth of Ari and that itself makes it for everything anyone can say. The author did a phenomenal job with the characters and obviously the story was so touching. I know some people had negative points in their reviews, but I look at it from a very objective point of view... it was the 80s and what BAS was trying to convey is that it was not easy to be gay in the 80s and I think that he did an amazing job. All what I can say is that I want more...

Solid good experience!

All the best feels, a beautiful tribute to the ones we've lost and a call to live in self awareness and love. 🥺🥰🌈

The long-awaiting sequel to a coming of age story the handles universal themes of love, loss, and liberation on a journey that everyone can relate to. Aristotle and Dante are a part of me now. Bravo. Will there be another installment?
