This is, perhaps, as close as you can get to an autobiography by the great man.

A Must For Petty Fans

The price is right on audible. As a fan, this was a very good listen.

Must listen for any songwriter

I was a passive fan before I listened to this, and now I feel like I understand Tom Petty’s music on a whole new level. I feel like I can appreciate his brilliance much more now than before. This is a must read for any songwriter or fan of music. Paul Zollo asks every question I wanted to ask, and Tom’s answers are full of details. Excellent listen, I’m sad it’s over.

Great Talks with Tom Petty

It felt like watching Tom and the author have casual conversations and commentary that made me appreciate Tom’s music & life even more.

Informative and interesting.

Clearly a labor of love for the author. Well written. Pleasant narration. Quite an eye opener in some areas. The author was able to get Tom Petty to open up and elaborate on any number of topics. It didn’t feel forced in any way. I highly recommend this book.

Inspiration for a lifetime

I absolutely loved this book. I enjoyed the style of writing as conversations vs. interviews. It was so cool to get to hear Tom's thoughts and memories, in his own unique language style, and his reflections and insights into his songwriting, performances, relationships and his entire life. Listening to his music after reading this book brings me even more joy and inspiration as well as a deeper respect and gratitude for Tom Petty as an artist and person.
