The story

Gaunt’s Ghosts embark on their most dangerous mission yet as they make a daring drop assault on the world of Phantine. With the elite enemy Blood Pact and vicious xenos mercenaries ranged against them and short of ammunition with no means of escape, things look grim for the Tanith First. But the greatest danger may come from within the regiment as an old grudge is settled and tragedy strikes.

Great story some bad editing.

A few cases where stuff repeats. Including one part where an entire sentence repeats like 3 or 4 times.

Dan Abnett gives us another great book from Gaunts ghosts. Toby perfectly narration of the story are spot on. You will enjoy this book like the ones before it.

Good like always but I disagree with some narrative choices. definitely don't start here, for sure.

Good enough novel but doesn’t compare to the first three books, still very enjoyable and it was interesting learning about the blood pact

Get Ready to feel the full range of emotions on this one!

How does Dan Abnett manage to write bangers like this while also writing bangers like this throughout the setting? It is insane. I keep thinking he will lose momentum or run out of situations for the Fighting Men of Tanith, but he seems to only be getting started. Toby Longworth THUDS his proverbial “meat on the table,” as always. Narrating every aspect, character, twist, and turn to absolute perfection.

Get this book, but only after getting all that came before it!

GG series is an absolute pleasure. But, it has to start losing momentum sometime soon, right?
