He's just found out that he's been designated the guardian for a half-brother he never knew existed. And that's not even the craziest thing about this night. The annulment he thought he got 12 years ago? Yeah, that never went through.

She's shocked to see him again, but not surprised they're still married. After all, she was the one who refused to sign the annulment papers. When she offers to help with his younger brother, a sweet, devout preacher's daughter seems like an answered prayer.

But he soon realizes she wants a second chance. At everything. And he has a hell of a time resisting her...which is exactly what got him into trouble last time.

Contains mature themes.

I'm not really a Jesus-y person but Kevin's story really touched me. The way he and Eve found their way back to each other was sweet and at the end.. exactly what they needed.

This one made me cry

I loved this series! This is Kevin's story. He's the born again Christian that has become a goodie two shoes from what he used to be when he played football. Kevin finds out that his dad had an affair that resulted in a son who is now 10 years old, he has to step up and become his guardian for 6 months while the half brother's mom goes to rehab and jail. Kevin's mom doesn't want anything to do with Drew. When the caseworker asks if Kevin's wife will be helping with Drew, Kevin realizes that his annulment to the preacher's daughter, Eve, from 12 years ago didn't go through. When he finds Eve to let her know, she tells him that she didn't sign the papers on purpose since she still wanted their marriage to work. They have a lot to learn about each other since 12 years have gone by. Mainly that Kevin is a Christian now and Eve doesn't go to church now. Kevin has to learn to forgive Eve for the things that she has done and she has to learn to forgive herself. This story wasn't preachy but lets you know that we can learn to forgive. I really liked the way Kevin and Drew learn to have a relationship and how all the "family" from Kevin's paramedic friends step up for him. This is definitely worth a credit.

I normally LOVE Erin Nicholas and for the most part it was a decent book, plus I miss Karen White narrating since her retirement (we’ve become friends after her shift over to writing instead)… but this book slaps you in the face with Christianity, without warning. As an Atheist, I really don’t appreciate that!

Storyline was just alright - not the typical excellence I’ve come to expect from Erin!

Super religious with no warning!
