The New York Times best-selling security droid with a heart (though it wouldn't admit it!) is back in Fugitive Telemetry!

Having captured the hearts of audiences across the globe (Annalee Newitz says it's "one of the most humane portraits of a nonhuman I've ever read"), Murderbot has also established Martha Wells as one of the great SF writers of today.

No, I didn't kill the dead human. If I had, I wouldn't dump the body in the station mall.

When Murderbot discovers a dead body on Preservation Station, it knows it is going to have to assist station security to determine who the body is (was), how they were killed (that should be relatively straightforward, at least), and why (because apparently that matters to a lot of people - who knew?).

Yes, the unthinkable is about to happen: Murderbot must voluntarily speak to humans!

Again!

The feeling of discovering that your favorite new listen is actually the start of a series is euphoric. That you can immediately hit play and re-enter a beloved new world, or love story, or era from history is a gift to the devoted listener. But how to pick just 100 of these unique and immersive listening journeys? We defined a series as having a minimum of three books, and—after some debate—we decided the titles had to be anchored in fiction. From YA to horror to historical fiction, from fresh voices to seminal tales, hours of discovery await.

Engaging Mystery • Clever Plot Twists • Perfect Narration • Relatable Protagonist • Witty Humor • Tight Storytelling

It was a whodunnit instead of the usual galactic adventures. Also it was another short one, shouldn’t cost a full credit :( waited so long for it, and now it’s over in one evening.

Not as good as others in the series

I fell in love with the Murderbot Diaries and I could hardly wait for the new book. It was a grave disappointment. The other stories were clever, funny, and endearing. This book was different. I guessed the villain once the autopsy results were revealed. I’m not clever so I knew the story wasn’t either. Oh well. I am very thankful for the earlier work and will enjoy listening to them over and over.

This series is so good it kills me when I get to the end. I hope the next book comes out soon. She really knows how to write an antisocial antihero. Fantastic job as always Mrs Wells!

damn it Martha

A fantastic addition to this series. I absolutely love Murderbot, especially their dry wit, sarcasm and observations about humans. Kevin Free is the perfect narrator for this series— perfect pacing, voicing and expressions. I highly recommend this series, but I also highly recommend starting from the beginning as Murderbot’s personal development and growth is what makes this series so wonderful.

Well worth the credit!

“Maybe I was just a bot with enough organic tissue in me to be stupid.” Is the best line yet.

Great story, well written.
