Publisher's summary

NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER • Pierce Brown’s relentlessly entertaining debut channels the excitement of The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card.

“Red Rising ascends above a crowded dystopian field.”—USA Today

Adapted from the novel and produced with a full cast of actors, immersive sound effects and cinematic music!

“I live for the dream that my children will be born free,” she says. “That they will be what they like. That they will own the land their father gave them.”

“I live for you,” I say sadly.

Eo kisses my cheek. “Then you must live for more.”

Darrow is a Red, a member of the lowest caste in the color-coded society of the future. Like his fellow Reds, he works all day, believing that he and his people are making the surface of Mars livable for future generations. Yet he toils willingly, trusting that his blood and sweat will one day result in a better world for his children.

But Darrow and his kind have been betrayed. Soon he discovers that humanity reached the surface generations ago. Vast cities and lush wilds spread across the planet. Darrow—and Reds like him—are nothing more than slaves to a decadent ruling class.

Inspired by a longing for justice, and driven by the memory of lost love, Darrow sacrifices everything to infiltrate the legendary Institute, a proving ground for the dominant Gold caste, where the next generation of humanity’s overlords struggle for power. He will be forced to compete for his life and the very future of civilization against the best and most brutal of Society’s ruling class. There, he will stop at nothing to bring down his enemies... even if it means he has to become one of them to do so.

100% worth it!

I love The Red Rising Saga it has been incredible. I was hesitant at first to purchase the graphic audio edition being multiple parts per book and possible quality issues. However after just finishing the first part definitely worth it! The Full Cast did an amazing job plus the sound effects and score are did very well. 100% worth the investment. If you’re hesitant listen to some clips on YouTube or see if you can rent the first part for free through your public library or hoopla or Libby.

A winner.

One of the best audio books I've listened to in a long time. A really well written story with a complimentary delivery and performance from the cast. Honestly well worth anyones credit!

A Gory-Damn Fantastic Listen

First and foremost, I am a huge fan of the series. I have read and listened to each book several times. This dramatization is amazing, and it addresses the one critique I have of the series.

My issue was, that compared to the other books in the series, the first audiobook does not feel as alive as the others. This is not an indictment on Pierce Brown's writing, or Tim Gerard Reynolds narration; both are absolutely phenomenal. It just happens that the first book is told exclusively from Darrow's perspective, and the rest of the books are told from more than one.

I love that PB is introducing new, exciting ways to enjoy the series, and giving me the opportunity to further support my favorite author.

Thanks PB

Ok, Good story.

Probably not one I would read the second time. Kind of drawn out. but to be fair I bought it by accident, and listened because it was in my library.

I am not a fair judge. I did read it though, and it is very violent, and, sad, the people are strong and very tough.

thanks, Kaye, Oregon.

Performance was amazing loved hearing the story dramatized. Highly recommend this for anyone even if you’ve listened to the regular one before.
