Publisher's summary

Marie Bostwick weaves the unforgettable story of four very different women whose paths cross, changing their lives forever.

It’s a long way from Fort Worth, Texas, to New Bern, Connecticut, yet it only takes a day in the charming Yankee town to make Evelyn Dixon realize she’s found her new home. The abrupt end of her marriage was Evelyn’s wake-up call to get busy chasing her dream of opening a quilt shop. Finding a storefront is easy enough; starting a new life isn’t.

Little does Evelyn imagine it will bring a trio like Abigail Burgess, her niece Liza, and Margot Matthews through her door. Troubled and angry after her mother’s death, Liza threatens to embarrass her aunt Abigail all over town unless she joins her for quilting classes. A victim of downsizing at the peak of her career, Margot hopes an event hosted by the quilt shop could be a great chance to network—and keep from dying of boredom.

As they stitch their unique creations, Evelyn, Abigail, Liza, and Margot form a sisterhood they never sought—but one that they’ll be grateful for when the unexpected provides a poignant reminder of the single thread that binds us all.

Loved it!!

I would love to go into Evelyn’s quilt store. I could see the hurt on both sides of the conversations and could easily put myself in that position. I also would like to meet Charlie!!
I feel like I know them. 😌

Heartwarming Story of Friendship and Hope

I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this audio book story of four very different women who came together in a quilt shop and through chance and God's timing learned to help one another and in the process found healing for themselves. I look forward to listening to the next book in the series.

Delightful

A story of more than one lady whose life wasn't the perfect dream. The main character Evelyn Dixon got the short end of the stick in her marriage, but it turned out to be one of the best things that could have happened. The other character, Abigail, will have you wondering what her story was and how a single thread would weave her into your heart.

I loved, loved, loved it!!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I related to a lot of the content of the story; one of the leads is about my age, she is going thru a health scare and has a son who can't seem to get out of the computer programming office to find a girlfriend!

What did you like best about this story?

The compassion and the touching story lines.

Which character – as performed by Pam Ward and Lorna Raver – was your favorite?

I like all the voices. I could easily tell who was whom.

Who was the most memorable character of A Single Thread and why?

Again, because of my age I think I liked Evelyn the best.

Any additional comments?

It made me want to find a group to start quilting (or knitting or sewing). I just think having a group like this would be nice.

Quilts Unite

4 Women United through a quilt, cancer, and their lives. A heart warming story, as a quilter and a cancer survivor it was a perfect story for me.

Quilters

As a fellow quilter this story hit home on so many levels. Quilting is therapeutic, healing, and calming. Such a great story and an invitation to all those non quilters to give it a try and see how your life changes for the better.
