Intriguing techno-thriller that explores how AI might help save humanity from an impending climate crisis… for good and for ill
Great concept for a book: humanity in 2050 is struggling with the true ramifications of the climate crisis, with climate events causing deaths in the millions, and so turns to technology for help. The world’s governments propose a temporary dictator who can unite the world in tackling the climate crisis. During the election process, a powerful AI is submitted as one of the candidates for dictator. Obviously this is concerning, but it also is somewhat understandable. So far humanity has done a pretty poor job with this issue.
Throughout the story, there is a lot of political intrigue, journalistic sleuthing, dark secrets uncovered, and some interesting twists along the way. The characters were sympathetic, the stakes were high, and this book kept me guessing the entire time. And the audiobook narrator does an incredible job bringing the story to life.
If you are a fan of Michael Crichton or Blake Crouch, I highly recommend giving this a try!

Unique twisty sci Fi murder mystery plus
What an incredibly complex intelligent read. Stratified characters involved in a crazy layered mystery/murder plot. The future is bleak and it's not that far away from our current reality. Can artificial intelligence get us out of our own way and clean up our deadly mess of a planet we have created? Politics, murder, end of days, environment and the giant gap of the have and have nots. Then of course is AI trustworthy? You will deep dive into your own opinions about all of it and then just sit and have to simmer in it all at the end, asking so what is TRUTH? This was soo much but, not too much for anyone to enjoy this page turner...
