Ummm, best audio book ever!

A classic Nick and Nora who done it. Very close to the movie with the same actors. Almost like I was watching the movie. Makes me feel right at home no matter where I am.

Great radio presentation.

I liked the fact that it was a full-cast performance (music, too), and that the veteran actors from the movies, who did a great job. There were also very few announcements, so it was more immersive, like a reading. There is a lot of background information before and after the performance, which the listener may or may not enjoy.

Powell and Loy

Not quite as funny as the movie, but entertaining just the same.
Good listen for a drive.

I still love the thin man!

Would you consider the audio edition of Audio Archive Presents Dashiell Hammett's 'The Thin Man' to be better than the print version?

I enjoy the casting of the thin man movies and love that they kept William Powell and Myrna Loy. It's their chemistry and banter than make this fun.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Audio Archive Presents Dashiell Hammett's 'The Thin Man'?

I love all the suspects invited to dinner in order to expose the murderer. In some ways the story is pretty innocent compared with mysteries now, and yet the basic formula stays the same.

What does the narrators bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The smartness of Powell and Loy.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. An old radio broadcast all in about one hour

Excellent Adaptation

This is a radio adaptation of the film. It is a perfect radio performance, made all the better because the original film cast reprises their roles.

A Timeless Classic

Would you listen to Audio Archive Presents Dashiell Hammett's 'The Thin Man' again? Why?

No, too hard to hear without plugging into a stereo to boost volume.

What other book might you compare Audio Archive Presents Dashiell Hammett's 'The Thin Man' to and why?

no

Did the narration match the pace of the story?

Yes. But why is the introductory background narration so loud and clear while the actual story is so poor in volume level?

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, when Nick rounds them all up for a dinner which reveals the murderer.

Any additional comments?

The volume on these audible books is pathetic on my Kindle! Without an ear piece, it can barely be heard.

Love OTR & Lux! full cast dramatization

With stars like William Powell & Myra Loy recreating their on screen roles for a Lux Radio Show, what is not to love? :)

Doesn't get any better

A Dashiell Hammet mystery, Nick and Nora Charles played superbly by William Powell and Myna Loy and audiobooks. What a combo

Could have cleaned up the background noise a bit

Radio play was good but they could have filtered out some of the hiss and crackle from the background in the modern recording.
