She was funny and delightful

Loved her voice and the details in her stories. She gave a picture of what life was like without using a million words. Her humor was a lovely surprise.

WHAT A WOMAN! #INSPIRING

I am of Carrie Fisher's gen, so DR was CFs mother to me, but as I'm in my empty nester years, I thought I would delve into her story (still heartbroken after their twin deaths, sad but also quite touching) her story is more relatable. I started w Carrie's books, then decided to listen to Debbie's, and also just finished Todd's as well. I recc anyone interested in any also read/Aud them ALL; it is VERY interesting to hear multiple perspectives on their unique story/lives. (Read Todd's last, My Girls; I went btwn Debbies and Todds, but Id say read Carries Postcards and Wishful Drinking, then Debbie's My Life then the next one, then Todd's as an outline). While this story ended happily, there is more to come later on! the underlying theme thru all of them is HARDWORKING, SURVIVOR, PERSEVERENCE. SPECIAL and FAMIILY! If you want to hear about slogging thru, rising up, classic Hollywood, and FAMILY this family's books are for you! THIS plus the others would make an AMAZING streaming series, would love to see her dtr star as her (Billie play Carrie). These books deserve to come to life for all as a memorial to how special these women, and this family, is! It gave me new fortitude in her/their honesty, btwn marriage issues, addiction etc etc they share their truth and serve as a beacon and learning lesson for us all. How GRACIOUS of them! and apparently that was DR, classic Hollywood but UNFLAPPABLE and UNSINKABLE! Brava ladies! and thx to Todd who shared more on it all. (Todd Fisher in My Girls, Debbie's son/Carrie's brother and Hollywood show profucer etc.)

Just a really good read. I read a lot of political non-fiction and needed the change.This book is just good for your soul.

No ending but enjoyable ninetheless

such an amazing lady., but I wished it had some sort of ending to it.

You will become entangled in these events, which are unbelievable..yet true. It couldn't have happened to a nicer person.
